  1. Hey Ed,

Would the plate look like that picture?

    http://www.abelcine.com/store/files/products/t_1001374.jpg

The plate will be the same but attached to the clamp as Pete says. The battery will hang under the rods (although you could easily put on the other way if you'd prefer the battery to be above them).

The other difference is the plate you linked to has a flyaway lead permanently on it - we are using panel connectors on each plate so you can completely remove the cable if you want.

    ED,

How do you connect this panel connector onto the existing battery plate? Maybe a stupid question but I don't even know how a panel connector looks like. Maybe a picture?

Again, thanks a bunch guys for trying to make our Archers even better.

    Sebastien.

  2. Hey all,

I just got an Archer a couple of month ago, love it, I've used the RED (naked) and Panasonic HDX900 so far and dynamic balance was easy to achieve.

But, you never know, so I'd be interested too. Any idea on the price yet, and could you ship it to the U.S?

    Let me know, thanks.

    Sebastien.

  3. For the third year the MacHeist bundle is available, it is organized by independent Mac software developers.

The MacHeist bundle is a pack of excellent softwares at an extremely low price.

25 % of your money is donated to charity, you can choose to split your 25 % to 10 charity organizations or to give it all to the one of your choice.

This year the bundle's price is 39 dollars for 14 softwares (they say 12 but they added 2 more lately) that should cost you more than 980 Dollars.

So you get a very good deal and you do a good action.

I bought this year's bundle just like I did for MacHeist 1 and 2. (Every year the bundle is different, I think I created a topic for last year's Bundle...)

In the software bundle there are very useful ones (an eBay sales manager, an image capturing, managing and retouching tool, a 3D animation maker, games, an iPhone manager, audio capturing and even a Web-TV studio !...) you can check the descriptions and presentation videos to know more.

If one of the softwares is not interesting for you you can gift it's license to a friend (or fellow operator !) at the time of purchase, there is that option for all the bundle's softwares.

And even if you buy nothing they give you a free software on their page.

    Just go there : http://www.macheist.com/

Thanks for the link Kareem. Vive les bonnes actions!

  4. Hi everyone, first of all, thanks so much for this forum, I don't know what newbies like me would do without it.

I bought my first rig last month, a used Archer, I love it. Now I'm trying to buy some accessories. A couple of

weeks ago I shot with the RED camera, and I wish I'd had a downconverter. So after reading this post I decided

to buy a Decimator, I should get it in a couple of days and I'm gonna need a custom power cable. I read that the

person to contact is Terry West, now, if someone could give me his contact info, I would highly appreciate it.

Well, that's it for now, thanks in advance.

    Sebastien.

  5. Hello everyone,

I'm new in the steadicam world, still walking the line and doing some small corporate stuff so far. I'm going to Greece in march to shoot some b-rolls for a documentary, it'll be mostly architectural stuff like the parthenon on the acropolis etc... I was wondering if any of you had some suggestions on shooting this kind of stuff with a steadicam. Or is it not worth it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sebastien.
