  1. an op named Jonathan Labby was there, I think he was shooting film, saw his pictures on FB.
  2. thanks for all the info guys!!! Walter and I have talked and he is sending me some padded inserts that we are gonna try and see if it makes the vest a little tighter since I think the vest is creepin down after long takes. So we'll see how that goes! -Tom
  3. Hey, Just wondering if anybody has come up with a good solution to legs falling asleep with the Walter Klassen Vest? Ever since a couple years ago when I lost all feeling in my leg and fell over, I haven't really come up with a good solution. I still have the fears and it has come close again on a few occasions. It's seems to be a hit and miss, some days I am okay and others I just have all kinds of issues with my leg "falling asleep" I am having some health issues in that I have trouble keeping weight on, so I am skinnier than when I got the vest fitted. is there some kind of padding that I can add to make myself fatter that won't hamper operating of the vest fitting? Thanks
  4. I posted before I met with them. When I went to do tests with my wireless systems, they thought maybe they could deal with the delay if it was stable...they said they couldn't. The are gonna try using my RF system, even though I told them I can't guarantee anything with it. The tech crew understands about using RF systems and what not, but they are gonna test it out anyway, they are still in developments and I asked why not cabled and why they needed the camera since one will already be out there, and they said it was needed for the play, but they are seriously thinking of just cabling it or putting drops around the stage since apparently it doesn't need to be "on" while it moves around the stage. And they are just thinking of scraping the second camera too. We shall see. -Tom
  5. Anyone looking to sell their IDX CamWave Wevi SD version? or possibly rent it for a couple months? Or anything else that has a stable, "broadcast quality" signal? I am open to ideas. It's for a theater that wants to have a live camera that can move on stage during the play and I don't want to give up my camwave for it. Thanks! -Tom
  6. Hey guys, I have the Nebtek NEB70HDS HDSDI monitor. I got a demo and liked it a lot. It does HDSDI and is 7 inches. It is 550 NIT, even though I was told once the initial production was sold off they are going to work on a 1000 NIT one. So I think if enough people ask for it, they'll make it. It isn't as bright as I would want in a monitor, but the only time I can't see an image is if bright light is directly shinning into the monitor, otherwise the picture is there. I did take it out in the sun, and the only time I lost the image was when the sun was directly shinning into it, granted, there were some other angels where the image looked darker depending on my angle to it, but I could always make out a picture. I haven't tried it with a sunshade, but I think if I had one, it would be better. I have used this monitor as a hand held for clients, I have to say the viewing angle is way better when on the rig, when you hold the monitor closer to your face, the viewing angle isn't so good, but when on the rig, the viewing angle is so much better. Just like a lot of people I was looking for an HDSDI 7 inch monitor. I didn't want a big monitor, even though I like the idea of a 8 inch monitor, but I have found them to be a little big for me. (that's what she said) :P sorry, I know immature. This isn't the end all to end all monitors but it is pretty good, works well for me and I am happy with it. FYI, I got the Film style back which means the connectors come out the side instead of coming straight off the back. I don't know which one would be better, but I made the theory in my head that I didn't need any cables coming straight off the back to get caught on anything. I don't know if that is a good theory but it sounded good when I tried out the monitor. -Tom
  7. Hey guys, I did get an iPhone!!! I didn't wait in line for days or anything..I actually went to an apple store about 7:30pm...wasn't even thinking about buying it figureing they were already out...but just wanted to see it, touch it, play with it. I loved what I saw, asked how quickly they sold out...and she said there still was quite a few in stock. So, then came the decision to buy or not...obviously I bought. I am loving it so far, for being a first edition...it is fantastic, still trying to get used to the keyboard, but I have big clumsy fingers. But overall, very easy to use. Being on the slower network kind of blows...but I can deal...but you can hop onto anybody's wifi network that will let you and use that for internet. The phone will atomatically switch over to the faster network. Also, I don't know if people realize...it is a Mac OS on there...so they can update the software just like you would your iPod or on your Mac. So if there are bugs...you can update to get rid of them. Haven't found any yet. -Tom
  8. Hey Matt Burton, Exactly what are you saying is funny about the link you posted? That was a workshop I was at, it is actually one of Janice Arthur's workshops...I didn't post the video...didn't even know there was a recording from the workshop. But if you are making fun of the op....that was his first time putting the rig on and trying to walk. I don't think there is anything funny about that. I don't think anybody was perfect the first time they put on a rig. If it was supposed to be making fun of the guy shooting the video...I don't think he was wearing a rig, it had to be a cameraphone or something small. Why did you post the link...I don't think it had anything to do with Cybotcam or "seasick" cam? Maybe it does, but knowing the backround of the video, I don't think it applies. -Tom
  9. Thank you guys for the info! I still haven't made a decision yet but I am gonna think about it till Monday, since I actually have the weekend free!!! then I'll make up my mind. So if anybody else would like to chim in that would be great. Thanks again, -Tom
  10. Hey guys, I am trying to incorporate myself, and have been reading a lot of info, but am still stuck as to which would be best, the S-Corp or LLC. Are there any others I should be looking at? Which ones are you and why did you choose them? Thanks, Tom
  11. hmmm...I don't know what to tell you, I haven't had that problem, talk to Archos. If you recorded the 16x9 image in 4x3...the Archos is going to playback the picture in 4x3 no matter if you hit "original picture" because you recorded it in 4x3. All I know is that on playback no matter what aspect ratio you record it in, it always zooms in on the picture...and the only way to get it to playback full frame in what ever aspect ratio you recorded in is to choose "original picture." So let's say I record something in 16x9, well when I go to play back, the Archos zooms in on the picture for playback so the top and bottoms are cut off, but if I go and choose "original picture," it will play the 16x9 like it was recorded in full frame. It's irritating to me that by default it zooms in on the picture, I still can't figure out why it does that. But it's a small irritation, I love it and it's great to be able to playback right away. I'm sorry if I am making points you are well aware of, I just wanted to make sure other people reading understood the whole zooming in thing that it does. Anyway, sorry I couldn't help -Tom
  12. Hi, I have the 700 so I am not totally familiar with the 500, I have only seen it in the store. But do you mean on playback that it's cut at top and bottom? I have that problem...but to fix it, you have to go into the menu on the side of the screen and choose "video format"....then choose "original picture"...and then it will play the original without cropping. I have never had a problem with it cutting off the image during capture, the whole picture has always been there. The only time I have ever had a problem with "auto format" while capturing was when I hooked it up to my Avid and tried to lay a sequence down to it, the Archos would always say the footage was 16x9 even though it was 4x3...so I just set it manually now for everything. Hope that helps! -Tom
  13. Hey Bryan, Do you think you could post some pics of the holder...I was always thinking about that ever since I looked at the vest and I got my vest, but never did anything about it. I'd like to see what you came up with. I have only used wireless once, but even then, I couldn't talk back, I could only hear, every other time it's just been from the camera. But the time I used it, I just clipped the belt pack on the right side shoulder strap right above the waist door. I was just doing walk back and forths in the back of the house, so I wasn't really moving around too much, but it worked. But getting some kind of holder on the vest would be cool I think. -Tom
  14. On the right side of the screen when you playback, there is that menu system....well the second item down is your screen size seletion. It's called Video Format.... You can choose auto...Maximized Image....or Original Picture....if you choose original picture right as the video starts...it plays it in however you captured it, no cropping. -Tom
  15. Hi Marc, I don't know the name of the regulator, I just ordered it from Fred. You should be able to get it for any Archos. You just need to know the Volts that your particular archos operates at so he can downconvert (is that the right term) from 12V to what ever volts your Archos is. I sent a pic to you. -Tom
