  1. Back to the top. Throwing in a custom Gyro bracket for 1.5" Steadicam posts.
  2. I'm selling my EFP red spring arm. This arm has a lift capacity of about 16-40 pounds. Asking $3,625 Attached Images
  3. Time to free up some space in the shop. Dropping the price to $3650
  4. Yes, the slide assembly attaches to the bottom... so if you are mostly concerned with the vertical weight distribution, ignore my previous suggestion :) I can pull my monitor out later and try to give you a rough idea of where the center of gravity is vertically... but as Transvideo offers a yoke mount for it, I suspect their rosettes are centered on the cg anyway. I would check in with Transvideo directly, they may already have a solution for attaching to an archer. They have been very helpful and informative for me and quick to respond to questions.
  5. Looking at their website it looks like they may have renamed the monitor to StargateFHD... that looks and has the specs of what was originally named the RainbowFHD anyway. It is available for pre-order, but you would have to contact them for price and ship date. I know they sell a rosette adapter separately for the Rainbow HD to be able to add handles, but that looks a bit thinner than the yoke hardware. It would be worth checking with them even if it's not listed. A lot of their accessories can be purchased individually. As for weight overall, I know it has been an issue on larger rigs when trying to balance multiple batteries. I ended up making a custom weight plate for myself and a few other ops, but I think it would be overkill on your sled. Here is the page to see what that is: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=21039&hl=%20transvideo%20%20rainbow The weight is not exactly centered. I set my rainbow HD on a pivot and it looks like the CG is roughly centered on the front logo (I do have the slide assembly installed, so that will influence slightly). The logo is centered on the screen so it is about 4" from the side with the controls and 3.25" from the other side. (again just rough measurements off of my monitor). The best way to add weight for the archer yoke may be to get the slide assembly and attach a small weight to the 1/4-20 threads. That way you could slide the weight left and right to center the center of gravity on your yoke.
  6. I think the screen resolution is about the same on both of these models. Transvideo lists the pixels for both of their current Rainbow HD models as having a picture zone of 1024x576. I have been very happy with my Transvideo RanbowSBL and yes the slide makes it easy to move the center of gravity over a stud style monitor mount. Their side brackets for use with the Transvideo yoke might make the monitor wide enough to fit your archer, they do stand out a bit from the sides. Another option to consider is the new RainbowFHD that Transvideo announced a little while ago. That will be a 1920x1080 display, 1000 Nits, a Bonded Screen, and a built in recorder. I didn't see the built in virtual horizon on the list of features for this one though. Does anyone know if they dropped that feature from this model? That was one of the big selling points for me when buying the RainbowSBL.
  7. Tiffen's new buckles worked well on my Master Series Vest: http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=steadicam&itemnum=MSC-079901 They are a little different then the original buckles, but it's an easy swap. The biggest difference is the new ones use one screw on the vest spar and the old ones attached with two.
  8. Still available. Dropping the price to $4000
  9. I made a short run of custom lightweight base plates for HyperDeck Shuttle recorders and currently have a few factory seconds left available. These plates have been milled out to keep their weight down to about the same as the stock plate that comes on the hyperdeck and adds less then 0.2" to the height of the recorder. These factory seconds are fully functional but have a few marks in the anodizing or surface finish. Offering the factory seconds for $90. I will be throwing in a set of aluminum studs with the first couple plates. I made these as a test batch and the fit is not quite perfect, but they do snap in and lock securely.
  10. I am selling my Kenyon KS-4 Gyro. It does work, but it is probably due for a rebuild sometime soon. There is a dent on one end of the gyro (see photo) and it is a bit noisier than my other gyro. The inverter was probably hardwired into a vehicle at some point in it's life because the Cinch Jones connectors were missing and the 12V was supplied through wires sticking out of the housing with spade connectors. The gyro's Cinch Jones connector had also been replaced with a mini xlr connector. I installed the inverter electronics into a new enclosure and rewired the Gyro with a Lemo connector. The gyro will come with paperwork detailing all the pin outs that I used. I've attached a picture of the old enclosure for a "before" look at the inverter. (I forgot to take a true "before" picture and had to settle for the empty enclosure) The Anton Bauer Dionic battery and plate pictured are not included. It does come with the P-Tap to Lemo connector cable to power the inverter. Asking $825
  11. Hey Tossief, The arm is still available. Let me know if you have any questions about it, and if you will be near Newark, DE anytime soon we can set up a time for you to see it in person. Thomas
  12. Several inquiries, but for the moment still available.
  13. Tiffen also sells an arm post that fits a Master or Ultra arm and has the end turned down to fit an EFP, 3A, or Pro Gimbal. It won't give you the adjust-ability of the mod Jerry suggested, but you would be able to order everything you need from Tiffen to get up and flying right away. The item number should be 250-7975 if they still carry it.
  14. Cleaning out the shop and selling off some old Steadicam monitors. An EFP green screen, an EFP lcd and a teletest for parts. Green Screen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252111524293?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 EFP LCD: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252111530916?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Teletest: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252111535633?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  15. I am selling my backup arm. It is an EFP red spring arm in very nice condition. This arm has a lift capacity of 16-40 pounds. Here is the list of maintenance that has been done to it: - The arm covers have had a couple small dents straightened and they have been powder coated. - The rubber bumpers on the center joint are brand new. - The screws that hold the arm covers and bearing pins have all been replaced with black oxide coated stainless steel screws for low maintenance. - The tension screws have been replaced and the new ones are slightly longer than stock so the arm can be tuned a little lower than the stock configuration and it is easier to disassemble the arm for cleaning. - The spring stops have been upgraded to 4-40 set screws (The originals were the older style dowel pins that were very hard to remove if you wanted to clean the arm) Asking $4,300
  16. Is anyone interested in a super lightweight threaded base plate for a HyperDeck Shuttle? I designed this plate to keep the weight down on my recorder and still give me some attachment options. The prototype is almost identical in weight to the stock rubber lined base plate. This plate offers two 1/4-20 holes and six 4-40 holes in the correct pattern to add Anton Bauer studs to mount on an unused battery plate. If there is enough interest in these, I'll do a short run of them. The final plates will be anodized black. I still have to get final pricing as that will be influenced by the number being made in the first run.
  17. David takes meticulous care of his gear. This will be a great buy for someone.
  18. I'm looking for a Paralinx Crossbow. If you have a used one you want to sell, let me know.
  19. Nice review... couple corrections on the V-25 though (It was my first sled) The V-25 is an odd sized post as well. I believe it's about 1.25". The V-25 was not built to take a digital signal. Glidecam did offer an HD upgrade option around the time they were introducing the X-45. One caution with the V-25 Gimbal: the main bearing is very open at the top and bottom and it's easy to accumulate dirt and grime there. It will require more frequent cleaning than some of the other systems out there.
  20. Nice work! I second the safety harness into the car. I like the second attachment point with the daisy chain up top. A second daisy to the other hinge would stay it back at two points and take out some side to side wobble. It looks like you are already getting a standard daisy fairly tight, but if you need one that you can pull tight quickly I'd recommend a Yates Adjustable Daisy. A hitch tightener would also be a nice addition to take out any wobble. The U bolt style hitch tighteners are probably the most secure that I've seen.
