  1. Is this going to be shot in a skating rink ? What kind of speeds are you thinking you will need to achieve? Sanjay Sami www.thegripworks.com
  2. One of each. Ready to go. I don't mean all grips do this. I don't, but I have seen it fairly often. Each to his own I guess. Sanjay Sami
  3. It is not unusual to keep a short riser (usually 4 inch) permanently attached to a low hat on a movie. This is primarily done because when you fit a geared head on the high hat, the wheels or the operators fingers may scrape the ground for lack of clearance. Also if you want to add reduction gears, you will be severely restricted with positioning. So you keep one regular hi hat for fluid heads such as the Oconnor 2575 and a hi hat with a riser in case you need to pull out the Arrihead or Panahead. Also, I have come across several Mitchell style risers, hi hats etc that are a strange size. Some that are very undersize and some that are very oversize. Hope that helps Sanjay Sami
  4. Hi Mark, The Hi Hat you got from MSE is the wrong size. The standard for Moy / Mitchell bases varies a little bit, but it should be a minimum of 7 inches to a maximum of 7.25 inch. 6.5 inch is too small. Since you have bought both of these pieces, I can recommend 2 things. The first is to move the key on the garfield mount closer to the center. That way even if it shifts it will not rotate. The other is to make a new washer and lock combo for the garfield mount, which has a step milled into it that sits into the inner hole of the hi hat, so that when you tie it down, it cannot slide from side to side. Hope that helps Sanjay Sami
  5. [ SSD vs hard drive makes the unit more impervious to shock and g-forces like whip pans, useful for our needs. It also trims some weight, runs cooler and draws less power. Hi Charles, I had a question, my work is all film cameras (mostly sync - panavision platinum or arricam ST or Arri 535) I wanted to have a recorder on board to record video assist. Given that the output is not very high quality, what would you recommend as a simple, foolproof (or as close as possible) system ? Price is not too much of an issue. Thank you Sanjay Sami
  6. Hi Alfeo, Just saw the promo for Wamba online. Great work ! Very impressive. Regards Sanjay Sami
