  2. hi all another noob question when one goes into low mode, does one try and keep drop time same as in normal? i find i have to lengthen sled when go into lowmode to allow enough space for hand between gimbal and stage to maintain the same drop time, should i not bother and go for a really long drop time without changing the sled length, just thinking of ways to speed up process on set by not having to many adjustments. another thing i have crt monitor (marell hbm-5) and when i swing to lowmode i find its easier to tilt monitor up (raises cg) or must i flip the monitor arm (involves a few adjutsments :) ) rehgards

  4. If you have roll in your gimbal when switching hands free, you have a problem. hi Peter thanks for the reply Do you mean a problem with me or with my gimbal? if its my gimbal how would i test it to find out whats wrong/ok? regards
  5. hiya yes, i know muscling it was a bad idea and wont do it again, as thomas eddison said, it may have taken me 1000 tries to make a light bulb but at least i know 999 ways how not to make a light bulb i just want to say thanks to all for your replies it has really helped and thanks again Jerry for helping a dumbass like me me :) regards
  6. hi all sorry for the really noob question, was wondering when working with primes, and changing lenses for different shots does one rebalnce with the stage for a quick rebalance? or should one slide the batteries in/out? what is the best way to preserve dynamic balance? or does one do both? i did a job recently on the RED anf we were changing lenses almost every 5min eventually i gave up and muscled it for a take or two. should one always try to maintain dynamic balance? thanks all in advance rob

  8. hi all sorry to ask stupid questions but when i do a switch my post tends to lean away from me, is it my operating hand putting to much pressure on post? or not enough force from arm hand? or my body posture? as in leaning? i feel my body is correct but i dont know what is wrong? does one make a big step to allow space for camera to glide past? i have the book and dvd but i cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong? any suggestions or comments would be appreciated regards rob

  11. hi all im busy making a bracket for recorder, any opinions or designs or advice? i thought about making bracket so it sits just above the battery rods between the battery and post or would it be better to put the recorder above batteries like the pro system? where is the best place to put the recorder on sled? regards rob
  12. hi all thanks all for the responses, i like your wit Ron :) i guess i just gonna deal with it until im good enough and have a bank balance to afford an ultra 2 :) to jerry, i just watched your dvd yesterday that you made, (peace be with Ted) very helpfull as i also have your book, and watching the vid after working through the book i feel im on the right path in terms of technique and hopefully no bad habitss. i also appreciate the fact you as one of the "masters/inventors" haver the time to answer questions posted by stupid people like myself. kindest and humbled rob
  13. hi all was wondering how/if/when you trim for headroom how does this affect your dynamic balance? would you have to set up and rebalance or would the small adjustments you make not have a major effect on the way the sled behaves? i think but if wrong pls correct me, that trimming would put you out of dynamic balance and how do u fix this? regards rob

  16. hi there i am a new operator and i want to know is there a archive forum that covers the basics of operating as im sure its all been covered before. Unfortunatly i cant make it to a workshop this year and have bought the book but am having trouble doing the switch is there a discusion that covers this or would anyone be willing to offer some help it would be much appreciated thanks rob
