  1. Greetings, The unit is SOLD. Thanks for looking! Cheers, Will
  2. For sale: 1 - IDX CamWave CW-5HD HD wireless transmitter/receiver combo. This unit was new from the factory in May, 2010. I paid about $5600.00 and it has worked great for me. I'm only selling because I took the plunge for the Boxx and can't afford both. The buyer will receive: - transmitter - receiver - power supply (US plugs) - Anton Bauer to IDX battery plate coverter (allows this unit to mount to a camera that usually uses A/B batteries - original packaging and paperwork The unit is set up for V-lock batteries such as RED or IDX, I've used it with both. I've also used a converter (not included) and run it off Anton Bauers. Asking price is $4250.00 USD OBO. I can accept check, Money Order, wire transfer or Paypal (buyer pays Paypal's 3% fee). Willing to sell internationally. I'll try to get some pics uploaded later today. Questions? Email me at will *at* williameichler.com Best, Will
  3. Hi Janice! Great feedback. Looking at your pic, two questions come to mind: 1. how much does the microwave system weigh? 2. Why carry the Hytron on the top? Why not power from the sled? Thanks! Best, Will
  4. Michael, Don't get it. Are you saying the Alexa package was crazy heavy? I just day played where a good friend was B/Steadi and the rig he had set up looked quite nice actually. What made it "crazy heavy?" Thanks! Will
  5. John, In regards to an EFP upgrade, shoot a note to Brant Fagan. My first sled was an EFP. He did a bunch of mods to mine, including adding spacers to the battery bracket to shove it further aft and make it possible to dynamically balance. We also replaced the upper j-box and added a 2nd battery mount. It worked really good until I grew out of it and needed a larger rig. Look him up and tell him I sent you. Cheers, Will
  6. Eric, You make an excellent point! However, I choose to set my monitor distance and then move the batteries (my sled is designed to do that). That said, I will adjust the monitor based on the shot. I don't do a lot of Don Juan, so it is generally a little farther out (the bottom of the NEBTEK montior on my sled now is 12.25" from the front of the center post), however I regularly change this and bring it closer. I do that either for Don Juan or to get into a space that I couldn't. Best to all! Will The monitor will only want to be in one spot for dynamic balance and that location is determined by the battery location. I haven't moved my monitor distance since I first built my XCS Ultimate four years ago.
  7. Mark, I have the Omni Shot and love it. Quick, elegant, done. Will
  8. Brooks, I spoke with Keslow last year and they didn't want to sell. They weren't being proprietary, just didn't feel they wanted to be a gear maker. That said, call Terry West and ask him about the box he made for me. It's very close. I decided to add an A/B connector and drop the battery meter. I'm very happy with it. Terry can hook you up. Best, Will
  9. has not set their status

  10. Hi all, Be careful of one thing (besides your warranty) when you are deciding to remove your plates to save weight: If you plan to use your Camwave with a camcorder style HD camera (IE - F900, Panasonic, etc) you need to know that power WILL NOT pass through to the camera if you use the 4 pin XLR power input. It will only work if you use the battery mount. I demoed the unit in January and was only concerned with the signal - which is as advertised. I demoed with a RED on a bench at my local rental house. I then got my unit in early Feb to use on the TV show I'm on. Set it up with the Panavised 900 we are using, hooked my power cable up from the sled to the XLR input and the Camwave fired up but the camera didn't. The song and dance I got from the Salesman was "well, you had a demo unit." My response was "I didn't bother to test something we've all had worked out since the 80s." It's the only part of the unit that is really annoying. Just beware before permanently removing the plates. Best to all, Will Eichler
  11. I just sold one of my two BFDs and the buyer selected an older motor of mine. Given that, I have an extra M-One Motor. It is serial number 321. The motor is in fine working shape, I just don't have a use for it anymore. All the bits the ship from Palomar Engineer (except the baseball cap) are included with one exception: There is no motor cable with it. If buyer purchases at the asking price, I'll have a new motor cable meet you at your desired address from Bartech Engineering. Asking $1850.00, plus shipping of the Unit - OBO Any questions, shoot me an email at will (at) williameichler (dot) com Best to all, Will Eichler
  12. Richard, Don't let Jerry bust your chops too hard. I had the great pleasure to pull focus for him on two shows & he loves the 400mm! Always on the cart and employeed in great ways - though never on the sled! Will
  13. Hi all, Bumping this one up on Labor Day as I need an antenna so my old Mod 2000 can labor and make me $:). Seriously, any recommendations of sources would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Will
  14. Alec/Brant, Is this the Steadicam version of "mine's bigger?" :) Mike, CALL ME! Yours, Will
  15. Mike, Good luck with the upcoming shoot. The only advice I'd add to what is already here is I always insist on scouting the course myself. I also do this in the vehicle that will hold the Steadicam during the shoot. This will give you a much better idea of what you are facing specifically. Good luck! Will
  16. Alec, Thanks for adding the photos! It's interesting seeing how others are doing it. We're using RED on the feature I'm on. Big difference is we are transmitting standard def. I'll snap a pic and put it up when we go back to work on Monday. Good luck on your show! Will
  17. Here is an image of the motor and all included pieces.

  22. Hi all, Elsewhere, I have an SLD100 for sale. Someone asked if it would work with his Chroziel Fox system. I rang Jim Bartell on the issue and he said he didn't have a definite answer but had his questions. He suggested I check here. Has anyone used these two items together? What were the results? Thanks, Will
