  1. Hi Alan, Just a quick heads up - I have an F55. It's entirely possible to access all of the menu options via a monitor and or via the side panel lcd, you just have to switch on the appropriate outputs. I can't remember them off hand, and my camera is out on a job, but suffice to say look in the "Video" menu. NB it's only possible to see the menu on the side panel if the camera is running FW 4.0 or later.
  2. I second what Charles said check out the Bright Tangerine. The misfit fits exactly what you're looking for. I've got a Viv 5", and I love it. Great build quality and design.
  3. Thanks guys, good info, will order one when I get a PRO vest.
  4. Job, do you use the ibaird full time? Or only for when you need to lower the socket block. I'm interested to know if lowering the socket block affects the way the weight feels on your body/back.
  5. Hi Mike, This looks like a great little system, can you tell me, is the TX output power selectable? How many separate units could you run in proximity to each other? Thanks Brad.
  6. Thanks Jerry, As always you're level of understanding of all things steadicam is a valuable insight and resource. Please don't stop coming here on account of the rudeness (I could go on but I'd like to keep this forum a respectful and courteous place).
  7. Chris, Justin is having issues with a brand new monitor. The downtime for him to send his monitor back is likely to be at least 2 weeks. Since the issue has been present from brand new, and you have acknowledged it is a design/build issue, you should look at supporting him better than that. I'm still waiting for a response as to how you are going to fix the overheating issue WRT to my monitor, so far no response. We pay premium prices for premium products because we can't afford to have down time. It would be appropriate to send him a replacement monitor, to cover him whilst you are repairing his monitor. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the digital level that was a major reason I decided to go with a Cinetronic monitor when I upgraded to SDI. At this rate I'm looking to another brand monitor to purchase, there's no point in purchasing another Cinetronic, if reliability, support and communication from you is the level we are currently receiving.
  8. Found it, on the Film-stuff website.
  9. Can anyone give me a phone number for Cinetronic? I can't see it on the website.
  10. Thanks for the update Chris. How many pre orders do you have, or if you like how many weeks will it take to get all the pre orders out?
  11. Small HD DP7 Looks good, OLED or LCD. I have a couple of DP6's (older model) and they are perfect for onboard or directors monitor. Great sunhoods available for them. "Disclaimer" I haven't seen the DP7 yet, but I'm planning on ordering one.
  12. What about SD (analog) PAL - 25p 50i ? if so then you would still be able to use the Cinetronic level, right ?
  13. Good to hear from you here Mike I'll look at buying one as soon as these issues get resolved.
  14. That would all be fine, except what is being pointed out here, by a lot of people, including some giants of our industry and craft, is the abuse of his position as moderator............. Eric can do and say as he pleases as a member, but not as a moderator. Just because it's not "against the rules" to be rude and aggressive doesn't mean it's a good thing to accept that type of behaviour. What's wrong with aspiring to a civil community!
  15. Yep I've had exactly the same issue with an Epic. Once I (we) where able to resolve it buy setting the SDI output of the red to 720, the second time it happened (different job) no joy. Couldn't get a result in any configuration we tried. I suspect it has to do with 24p output on the red, but on this occasion I couldn't get any output option to to work. Maybe someone with more RED experience could shed more light, maybe something to do with the firmware build version of the RED? Brad.
  16. I wear the monkey shoes (Vibram 5 fingers Bikila LS )for training and running, but I wouldn't be wearing them for Steadi until I had at least 6 months conditioning under my soles. It took about two months of running in them to feel normal. If you like the idea of having more ground feedback Merrel, inov8 and New Balance make some good options. I personally like operating in inov8 fLite195, or New Balance MT00. My posture and footwork has improved, but it takes some time to get you feet and calves conditioned. If you like the idea of going "barefoot", "Born to Run" by Chistopher McDougall is good read.
  17. this one holds only the battery, it is not male/female. BUT, as I found out today, IDX will be bringing out a V-mount version this May.....in the meantime i'm using the A/B plate.... I think this is it?? B&H
  18. Just looking at getting some Gyros, and wondering how most people power them? There seem's to be a choice of tethering and using offboard power, but I would have thought setup would be quicker if you can just bolt em on balance and go? When using onboard power what are the options for ac conversion for the gyros? Thanks for any advice
  19. When did Kenyon start making their machined gyro's in house?
  20. I've got one of these, GLD rock solid and light. I'd check and see about availability, i've got a newer design than what is shown.
