1/4 BSW (whit)- the standard camera thread I think S Hi Sam, I think you've quoted me the camera thread size and not the G-platz. This does not look like a standard camera thread. The G-platz is a plastic threaded bolt for slightly heavier cameras which screws into the merlin and the head of the bolt just touches the lens of the camera to suppot it further. There is one provided but it is plastic and I require a metal one which is also longer. See image where the G-platz is located on the Merlin. http://yfrog.com/4p48rij

Hi Guys, I am a Steadicam Merlin, Arm and Vest user but wanted to know the exact thread size of the G-platz on the Merlin. I ask as I wish to replace my supplied plastic G-platz bolt with a metal and slightly longer bolt. Many thanks.

Anybody used the Steadicam Merlin with or without Vest and Arm with a Sony Z5. If so have used with Z5 and bigger battery pack and compact flash recorder on camera. I am aware that this takes it upto the Merlin weight limit. Any comments on this would be great. Thanks :)
