  2. HI Korey, Curt Schaller, Developer of the Artemis, gave me this answer for you: changing from one mount to another is not a big deal. Basically the Artemis is fitted to work with AB mounts. to use V-Mount or PAG, we offer adapter brackets and the needed screws. The change is about 30 min incl. soldering action Thanks. Paul
  3. Hi Everyone, If anyone is interested in attending the Artemis Workshops in either Chicago (9/25 - 9/29) and Los Angeles (12/5 - 12/8), please click on the following link: http://go.vitecgroup.com/artemisWorkshopRegistration Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Kind Regards, Paul Dudeck
  4. Hi Guys, I was going thru our inventory and found that we have a whole bunch of Obsolete Gold Mount brackets in stock that we no longer use. These Gold Mounts are for various applications, but I know that you guys like to take the Gold Mounts and attach them to everything to hold a battery. I am selling these mounts off for $70.00 each. I don't know which model number you will get, but all of them have a Gold Mount and PowerTap, so you just may need to remove a sheetmetal back plate and whatever power connector is currently on it. Please email me at pdudeck@antonbauer.com if you are interested in any of these mounts. Thanks. Paul

Companies that will be here will include Sachtler, Vinten, Autoscript, Anton/Bauer, Litepanels, Petrol, Panasonic, Sony, JVC, Canon, ARRI, Hitachi, Ikegami and more... I have attached a pdf with the information. I hope to see you guys then. Thanks. Paul OPEN HOUSE_INVITE_SEPT.pdf
  6. John, I have attached copies of the MSDS for the DIONIC 90 and DIONIC HC cells. You can see by the chemical make up that they are different. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Regards, Paul MSDS - Lithium Battery (Dionic 90).pdf MSDS - Lithium Battery (Dionic HC - HCX).pdf
  7. Hi Guys, I have been following this post. Just to clear things up, the DIONIC HC and DIONIC 90 use two different cells. They are both from the same manufacturer, however, there are some characteristics which are different such as they can handle high current and have a longer life span. With the HC, Anton/Bauer also developed the "honeycomb" cell protector which was also approved by the cell manufacturer and which the cell manufacturer may also incorporate into some of their own projects. I hope this helps. Regards, Paul Dudeck
  8. Hi Guys, This exact subject has been up for debate for a few years now. It was supposed to take place in Q4 2011, but then it got pushed off. I have not heard that it is 100% approved for 2013, but I am sure that is what they would like to do. I am doing more investigating, but our people are in contact with the proper organizations all the time. Whenever there is a lithium ion "incident" or changes to rules, we are immediately notified. Thank you. Paul
  9. Hi Guys, Looking for some hi-res / quality pictures that we can use for some marketing/advertising purposes. Can anyone help me out? Please email them to me at pdudeck@antonbauer.com Thanks. Paul
  10. Hi Alfeo, No, this is not true and if a battery company is telling you this, then you are paying for a battery that you can only use 80% of. All Lithium Ion batteries should have a low voltage shut-off circuit in them, usually around 10-10.5V. This will prevent the battery from over-discharging. If you did not know already, if you over-discharge a lithium ion battery one time, you can kill it. This is another one of the disadvantages of lithium ion. A NiCad or NiMH cell can be over-discharged, for all intents and purposes, many times without affecting the run-time or life. Regards, Paul
  11. Hi Guillhermo, Have you looked at the Anton/Bauer DIONIC HC or HCX batteries? Just an option.... REgards, Paul
  12. Does this still hold true? I was told to try and never let my Li Ion batts discharge more than 20% and to completely charge them before putting them alway... its a bit impractical for us to try and discharge our batts to 40% when we literally don't know when our next day will be. So what is the best way to handle this???? My original question upon finding this thread was to find the best solution on my battery rotation (especially in 24v or 12vParallel)? Should I use two older batteries together and two newer batts together or new and old at the same time? Hi Alfeo, Yes, this will always hold true for lithium ion batteries. Like you mentioned, it is virtually impossible for you to know exactly where 40% is, but do your best to be around the 50% mark. As far as the "20%" that you were referring to, I don't know where that came from, but I highly don't think that is true. For all intents and purposes, a lithium ion battery will only self-discharge around 1% per month, so you would need to let it sit around for 18+ months to let it self-dishcarge 20%. Now if someone is telling you not to use the battery for more than 20%, then that is really out of the ballpark. How would you be able to really use your battery if you cannot use it more than 20%? The other best way to store the battery is on the charger. When we are referring to discharging a battery to 40% and leave it off charge, this is typically for a situation where you will not be using the battery for extended periods of time.......say 6 months or more. So, this is not an everyday thing to do. As far as batteries of different ages, I would try and keep the same aged batteries together when using them. Most pieces of equipment do not know the age or run-time of each individual battery and will only draw from the battery/batteries based on the voltage. An older battery will have a lower voltage and the voltage will drop off quicker, so the piece of equipment would pull power from the stronger battery most of the time, until the voltage levels meet. Hope that helps. Paul

  15. HI Guys, Sorry I am late to the party. I have been so busy the past few months, that I have not had a chance to log in lately. First, the HC is a 91wh battery and the ALEXA camera alone consumes somewhere in the neighborhood of 100w. So, without any accessories, you are looking at about one hour of run-time. Add accessories and your run-time is going to decrease. The camera does have an internal dc/dc converter which will upconvert the voltage from the battery on the rear of the camera from 14.4V to 24Vdc. The 2-pin Fischer, like mentioned in a previous thread, I thin can only take 24V/28V in. The old saying "watts is watts" applies here. Whether you use a 90wh 24V/28V battery or 90wh 14V battery, your run-time will remain the same. The amount of current pulled from the battery will be higher from a 14V battery, than a 24/28V, so, as mentioned in a previous thread, the life span will be affected. Another neat thing with this camera is you can hot-swap from the battery on the rear of the camera to the 2-pin Fischer connector. If you have a battery on the rear of the camera and the battery is starting to die, then you can plug a 24/28V battery into the 2-pin Fischer, and keep power going. Hope this helps...... Paul
  16. Hi Guys, Just in case you did not know, Anton/Bauer released a DIONIC HCX (120 watt-hour) lithium ion battery at NAB this past year. This battery has a list price of $699.00 and weighs a mere 2.4lbs. Best part, is like with all Anton/Bauer batteries, they can charge on your current Anton/Bauer chargers. My best wishes to all of you and your families for a great holiday! Regards, Paul
  17. Hi Sebastian, You can contact the Anton/Bauer office in Kerkrade, Holland and speak with Martyn Sly-Jex. He'll give you pricing you can't refuse and he also has stock there, so shipping is not a problem. He can be reached at msly-jex@antonbauer.com Kind Regards, Paul Dudeck Anton/Bauer, Inc.

  21. "Dears"...?! alrighty then. 160 also costs twice as much as a Red brick--something a lot of people will factor in as well. I'd stick to AB myself. The upcoming 140's will be a great new choice. Charles, Be nice to Daniel, even though he is French!!! :) Daniel works for Anton/Bauer and has his home office in France. He worked for Panasonic for quite a few years and is very knowledgeable in the industry. Paul
