    ProGear

Your English is better than mine  I'm interested in the progear also and may even own one verry soon! You will see lots of info/pics and field reports if i get my hands on one soon. Cheers Matt planet-mu Records
  5. "Just a quick update" I have overlooked progear as a solution to my setup problems. Due to lack of advertising and a slightly bad smell from copying the gpi perhaps. On a closer look though it seems perfect for my current needs and budget. Almost to good to be true ? I would love to see a demo or have a play with arm or sprint setups! Thanks for the info *nameless* Matt Planet-Mu records
  6. I might add that MKV do a mod flyer setup, i wasn't able to see it in action however i'm sure somebody has ? So the v35 around 8k would that be $ or euro ? cheers matt.
  7. I clearly have no idea about all this tax malarky :) I will have to hire you as a consultant tom :D Keep us imformed about when u might be selling. Cheers Matt
  8. Hi everybody No i still dont have my rig :( could realy have done with it last weekend as i was shooting a large gig in dublin. A second hand provid would be an ideal start for me but i'm not having much luck finding one in my price range. I'm hoping to do a big job soon that is paying very well. Perhaps after i get paid (fingers crossed) i might be on track for a big rig mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :) The v20 looks crap, dont like the arm or the reports! the gold might be ok but what price ? Ps i'm a producer and operator, thats were the smart money is !
  9. Anybody use this arm yet ? Also who wants to make me a dslr array arm like that one, with remote shutter controle and possibly a timecode link to the video cam ? Cheers Matt
  10. Well no that doesn't really help but thanks anyway. I sore the original pics on the actioncam website in the first place. There is no info on the stopmotion setup at all other than a vid clip and photo's. Who made it ? actioncam ?? Who did the stopmotion setup for the actioncam. Why did they go with that strange arm setup on their rigs ?? Can anybody shed some light on this great toy ? Cheers Matt
  11. Anybody ever use a setup like this ? Must be hell to controle Cheers Matt
  12. I will soon be getting my business development loan of £4000 - £8000. Yes i'm excited :P I shoot Music videos (think mtv bass), Documentarys, films, corperates you name it. What do i shoot on ? Well Mainly DVCAM i'm affraid, however i dabble on HDCAM and digi beta also. So i'm using small cams from pd170's canon xl2'a, then onto dsr570's and upto HDCAM's I need a rig that i can start off with my DVCAM's and then when budgets allow, progress upto HD and beyond (anybody wana teach me how to use cine cams :D or how to spell i know). If anybody has a rig to suit me or any advice, please click on my name then send me a personal message. Kind regards Matt.
  13. "Toshiba plans to launch a television based on a new flat-panel display technology called SED, or Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display, in 2005, a company executive said Friday". For full artical goto Click me I didnt realise that sed's would be with us quite so soon. Matt OK ok how do i get thumbs ? (rob ?)
  14. Would love to see some clips :D cheers Matt
  15. Omg ! i remember a post made about this rig befor. You cant expect anybody to think that you havn't used motion stablising in the running shot ! Look where he is holding the post in the video ? That thing must be all over the place. And you want people to send you money based on a promo vid that is lying through its teeth ? what a joke. Dont send these people any money unless you have had a live demo and are satisfied that the rig wont fall apart a day after you get it. Matt. 16. Not sure about the workshops but YES a flyer would probably eliminate your hand tremor. Hire one out and have a go! again not sure where you can hire one from either but i'm sure somebody here can help. Good luck Matt

Bummer job just came in......... i'm filming in dublin from the 18th to the 20th. If anybody gets chance could they shoot some footage/pic's of the toys for us to drool over!
  18. Me2 shock and awe all the way baby.
  19. Bit of advise on getting better. Get yourself some web storage, then creat some clips of your filming, then link to the clips in this forum. I'm sure plenty of people will help you out with things you are doing wrong. A great way to improve as a cam, steadi or no steadi is feeback feeback and more feedback. Of course, you only want feedback from people who know what they are doing. So if their are no operators in your area or your shy lol. Then just get feedback from experts on the interjob thingy. You could also think about getting a mate to film you filming and look back for problems walking. A word of caution about the walking the line method. It will only get your walk good going in straight lines back and forth on level ground. This isnt steadicam operating and you will need to keep good shots in the most diverse terrain. Practice on all terrains, stairs, hills, anything you can think of. Feedback is normaly free, fookin up on a job is well...... the end in some cases.
  20. I flew a flyer with 570 at workshop, flew great even with view finder on. You would wana strip that off and any onboard sound recording. also think about lenses if possible. Chances are you only need a light wide angle lens, not the chunky 20x canon jobo they come with. The lens makes up a big percentage of the cams weight, so shop around the hire places if your budget/time allows. Hope this helps Matt
  21. lol sorry bit confusing ehy, the pic is my signature however i have yet to photoshop my name on it. Might change it now anyways as i'm just confusing everything. V oh look i changed it. a little more abstract but perhaps wont attract any unwanted attention. :P

Now then, Would mk-v be interested for making mods for light steadi rigs like the flyer ? I am probably getting one to teach kids with and i could probably do with some tweeks here and their. I have a small problem with center post being a tad on the thin side. I know that i shouldn't be gripin the post like a monkey on heat. However if i'm doing pans i would like better finger grip control. You might say i like a bit of girth  (ah i dont mean that kinda girth). Bearing in mind i dont own one yet tho, i'm sure i will find more things i wana upgrade. How about a front back mount vest ? maybe thats a walter klassen challenge. Cheers Matt
  23. yo Scholtzey, Can you sugest a rig for between £0-£8000 to fly an xl2 with PS Technik mini35 ? I agree that the flyer is overpriced, but what can you do man ? they got us by the balls. I wana see a hybrid rig inbetween the flyer and a master, but priced more like the flyer. An ffs give us extendable posts that don't cost the price of a second hand sports car. lol sorry getin a bit carrid away again. I know you are feelin you Glidecam Gold, however i fear thats outa my price range. cheers matt
  24. Could i ask what the purpus is of your filming ? is the end result gona be for promo material or just event coverage ??
  25. Would the flyer hold an xl2 with mini35 adaptor and an avarage 35mm lens ? just curious, might have to get a pro vid or similar if not.
