  1. So you can tell me you don't feel a little guilty just after you have shot bambi in the face ?
  2. My problem is purely with people who hunt for sport ! If your hunting to feed your family then I have great respect for you. If you just enjoy say 'killing' then fine, that tells me a lot about you.
  3. Wow the only thing missing from that picture is a dear with an AK. Not impressed. But thats just my opinion, im sure you have your own reasons to justify the slaughter of innocent animals. Peace
  4. One of the main reasons i'm posting here is to document my findings so it might help others in the future. So far the Pilot is looking like a nice affordable system. I wounder how durable they will be in the hands of art college students :o
  5. I've recently been given the job of setting up a camera/edit department at my local art college. Naturally I'm thinking of getting a steadicam perhaps a flyer. Is their any discount or special price plan for educational establishments available ? Kind regards
  6. I'd say you should go for a used steadicam clipper 2 or mk-v nexus perhaps even a brand new steadicam archer would suite. However film is something you might end up wanting to do later down the road, so perhaps look for a rig that is 24v capable etc. 20k is a good amount to play with so you might have to balance toys (add ons) with base system if you are intending to get follow focus and video transmitters etc.
  7. Awsome work what happens when you hit the salt :o
  8. Nice review Richard can't wait to see some steadi footage at 4k
  9. Very Very nice  What was the weight like ? I remeber a time when people thought the red was little more than a pipe dream. Glad things are taking off now. Interesting that all the ports ont the side of the camera are so exposed, i take it their is some kind of cover or plugs for them ? Cheers for sharing.
  10. I've met her, she's short ooouch
  11. Jeese man whats wrong with you
  12. Agreed ;) Thats the good thing about the flyer being a light rig, it makes flying heaver setups a breeze providing the arm can take it.
  13. Wow Maurice, That sounds appaulling. To think somebody would take offense at you wanting to teach something to others is quite frankly maddness. Do you have much experiance with steadicam ?
  14. I have to disagree with Chris, I dont think the flyer vest was designed for anything like the weight of the 900. Compare it to the ultra or any other heavy weight vest and you will see more padding and better adjustment options. I always found the flyer vest adequate but could have been far better for padding an adjustment. Messing about with the velcro waist strap was always a pain and the chest plate needed padding for a better fit. I'm not saying the vest is bad at all but some modification could make it 200% better.
  15. Every days a good day for a workshop  Hope you are well Robin.
  16. Chris just incase you missed it the first time :P I'm doing well Eric, just finished the first cut of a new music video. haha not quite broken out of them yet.
  17. Just goes to show the reflection on a pool of water doesn't reveal it's depth ;)
  18. I have to say it looks kinda awkward on first impressions. No gimbol grip and a what looks like a bizarre bottom stage, is this what light weight low end means to steadicam ?
  19. This thread should be called "how badly can you over load a flyer"! Uhum, been their done that with a 750 and 900 and I don't remeber it being much fun. The gimbol becomes useless under heavy loads and the vest gets rarther painfull. Still Lets see some pics
  20. Indeed a greate shame some of the more experianced opps feel this way, I have only been around for a few years but have witnessed my fair share of nastyness and thoughless comments on this forum. I might add that 90% of posts are written with only the best of intent, and only a small percent seem to have some 'other' kind of agenda. My view on this is that the genuine comunity should rise against the 'others' and put this forum back on track. When people stop posting it only serves to censor the comunity and this puts out a bad image of us all. PS I fully understand people being to busy to post and I wish I was in this possition more often. -matt
