  1. Wow :o How the hell do you lose a Klassen ? I can understand a buckle but not the hole vest that's both unfortunate and absurd, good luck. -matt
  2. The makohead looks super thanks for the info Dan, have you seen the instructional demo video with the cute blonde ?
  3. I've got Ben Howells at the top of my list (congrats Ben). I wounder if the adds are specific to location ? -matt
  4. I think all the regulars here know about hard work and sweat ! No pain no gain ( I think Kyle may be feeling a little pain at the moment). ;)
  5. DC528 Dewalt Flashlight is all I need to know ! Off to my shed it is !! -have a nice holiday B)
  6. I think Kyle means that he can deliver via web based HD media perhaps as this is the only way many can experience HD video. Still it's massively vague can you explain your meaning ?
  7. I did a feature film where I played the part of a reality show steadicam operator being filmed by the real film crew. Not only did I have the demanding reality stlye running around like a headless chicken to deal with but I also had the typical film stlye re-takes to deal with. Good job I was with a 750 and the mk-v lite + 200 pole dancers B) -matt
  8. Ha I'm in the wired nether-world of low to none exsistant productions, I think it's called the north of England  It's a shame about the super post though, I love to see it done well. Perhaps one day my luck will change and I'll have a super post all of my own, and when I do i'll just get a tilting top-stage and keep the post fully extended all the time. I'll be known as 'super post Matt' I can see it now ...... :o
  9. Neat idea looks very nice with the one large rod at the bottom, any more info about the designe ? -matt
  10. Did you not got much chance for high mode Erwin ? Just interested if many directors would even ask for it and if you offered it up that much. -matt
  11. So all becomes clear now ! How does this guy manage to work ?
  12. Might be worth mentioning to take the eyepiece off to save some power :)
  13. So your asking us if we find any websites with your name in them to email them to your legal team ? -matt
  14. Please do cheers Jason Not sure if you've seen this trailer yet www.midnight-film.com all done with the HVX and the M2 35mm adaptor. What do yal think ?
  15. Yup it's a very nice camera and the big brother to my HVX200 B) I'm impressed every day with what this little cam can do in the right hands. I'd bet the HDX would take on a 900 let alone the 750 !
  16. Cheers mate Cute pilates instructer booked ! :D
  17. To be honest yes you could probably learn a lot from using the mini, it does work but only in the right situations. However you would learn a lot more from the flyer and you'd also be able to 'work' more with the flyer. Personally I'd go for the glidecam v25 and a practice cage for smaller cameras, it's only slightly more than the flyer but would let you fly much bigger cameras so you could take more jobs !
  18. Yes sticks is what i meant not sure why I put stilt's but I kinda like it now. Digi beta on a flyer :o if only it were possible i'd never had sold mine. I was using a IIIA but the problem was this old DIGI cam, i've seriously never used one as old and heavy before. It's the old sony, the one where you can't remove the eye peice and it seems like it's made out of lead. Nothing like a modern DVW790WSP about half as heavy again it seemed. I'm mending pretty good now I just hope i'm not turning down much work in the mean time. Perhaps back to the old stilt's for a while
  19. On my last job I had a really old heavy digi beta camera fully loaded with matte box filters etc. It was a one camera shoot and the camera was being used for stilts and steadicam off and on. Due to the weight of the camera I had no choice but to power the camera from the sled as you'd expect. Inbetween scenes I had gone for a break and I was called out as the director had a brain wave and wanted to get one quick shot with the steadi. I said no problem and me and my assistant quickly rigged up the sled and camera. One thing I hadn't realised was that the camera still had the 2.2kg battery attached from the stilts. When I picked up the rig from the docking stand in order to quickly balance on the fly, the weight of the battery forced the rig backwards and I had to really push it forwards. I felt a sharp tearing in my abs and docked up the rig sharply. Me and the assistant had a quick chuckle as we noticed our mistake and off came the battery. Everything seemed fine with the rest of the shoot all be it a little sore around the ribs on my right side. A few days later and I felt fine, a couple more days and I had a slight increase in sensitivity in the right side of my stomach. The symptoms over the next few day increased until it was really quite sore and the pain widespread. I had complete forgotten about the camera incident and was thinking the worst from appendicitis to i don't know what, it just didn't feel like a muscle tear. Anyway I got back from the doctors today and it was just a muscle tear and should be six to eight weeks before it's right. Pretty foolish of me I know but I was just wondering if anybody else had ever torn a stomach muscle from operating ?
  20. Don't be put off Alex it's sounds like everything was against you. The mini is a very old design and was replaced by the Flyer a few years ago. Was the video lead tethered to you or just the camera ? The best way if a video transmitter isn't an option is to connect the heavy cable to your vest securely and then use a thin light weight bnc cable from your vest to the camera in a way that minimises pull from the cable. Did you say that people were holding the 35mm adaptor while it's on the steadicam ? Theirs just no way anybody could have made the shot that way and shows bad planning on the part of the production. Light weight rigs like the Flyer can be a joy to operate but they have their limits. Good luck in the future and i'd say the mini is used on about 0.01% of productions and probably falling fast. -matt
