  1. Hi Eran, I Know some guys over at www.steadiforum.com who use that system, you could try posting over their for some feedback. -matt
  2. Nice self promotion their Eric :) (is that a camera shadow at the end of the last shot on the short reel ?)
  3. Cheers for the heads up Jason, I've been looking for an RX with built in LCD for a while now. Good luck in Kosovo mate !
  4. Are we talking just a TX/transmitter or both TX and RX/reciever ? -matt
  5. Personally I always would go for several different pieces of music or subtle sound FX that reflect the mood of each scene or a group of scenes. That conbined with the odd break for a nice piece of dialog would be killa ! :D It can be such a BIG mistake to just edit your reel to one track ! (edit) However if the music is good it can be very effective i'll admit.
  6. I'd sudgest getting some generic contracts drawn up and taking them with you on jobs, also don't forget to get them signed. -matt
  7. Keep us posted on the repair ! Perhaps it's a QC thing or even took a bashing on the flight to Oz? Unlucky never the less. From my experiance the flyer yoke/gimbol was fantastic for light to medium sized cameras. -Matt
  8. Hi Dylan, Where did you get the flyer from ? I've just sold my flyer but I never had any play in the gimbal. Are you talking about play in the two bearings connecting the yoke ? -matt
  9. It was the name of the feature and Caprice ended up taking the role. The PR people were going crazy trying to find a femal lead with kate moss pulling out. :D
  10. My thinking was that because the v25 is based on the 3a that it would be fine even if it's miles away from say a g50 or pro arm. I've flown a g50, 3a, flyer, provid and the rest but just never the v25. The only arm i've ever had problems with was a 3a and I think that was because I had the bones a little to high. It would always lock out when resting on shoulder and i'd have to un jam it back to it's normal possition. I was hoping the v25 would be equal to a 3a arm and have the benifit of being new and refined. So what I really want to test is how does the v25 arm fair against an old 3a ? -matt
  11. I learnt that hard way with my shoes as ever. Was rushing packing my kit for a feature and only packed my flat sole skate shoes. This wouldn't have been a problem with the flyer but on a heavy rig my feet were in tatters by the end of the week. Now on the look for the perfect steadicam shoe for heavy rigs ? -matt
  12. Just looked up the pdf for the 416. INTEGRATED VIDEO ASSIST The 416 viewfinder is accompanied by a video assist of the same image quality and features as the highly praised ARRICAM and 435 integrated video assists (IVS). This video assist is closely integrated into the camera body to keep the overall camera size small and slim. -matt :P
  13. Hey Alec, I'm really interested in how you thought the v25 arm performed. I haven't had chance to try one out but was really hoping it would be up for the job. Your the first person i've herd with a bad word to say about it, and yes i'd give alot of respect to your opinion. -matt
  14. Hey Tom, Do you have any pics of the love machine ? I've herd so much about it :D -matt
  15. Interesting stuff, I've seen the nike spot you did quite a few times, nice work. I take it you were using a quad or something for the fast running shots ? -matt
  16. It's nice using well tuned kit aint it bud :D
  17. she's looking good on you mate congrats :D
  18. Hi Richard, Some fantastic stuff their :D For a reel i'd say it's twice as long as it needs to be. Just pick out the nicest longest sequences I could suggest many greate shots from that reel, nice work. -matt
  19. Congratulations Matt. I'm jealous! Assume you hired the MK-V? How much? Hope you're well. Eric Cheers Mate I got a unbeatable price from Ant at MK-V hire, as it was my first feature and first time hiring from MK-V. Can't thank everybody enougth as i'm pretty sure this job has got me well and truly in the loop it seems. PS notice my tan is better than Caprice's :o) -cheers
  20. I took some pics on my camera phone from my first feature last week. Better pics on the way from the photographers! Pretty crazy shoot with 3 camera units, 4 dops, 3 directors and 200+ pole dancers :D I used the MK-V light and it did a fantastic job with the 750 and any lens, FF and matte box combo. I'm not realy used to heavy setups but the light made it easy to fly all day long. More photos at My Webpage I'm hoping to get some fantastic stuff for my reel from this job. Amazing luck that the film is about a reality tv gameshow and I was the reality crews steadicam opp (on camera), and also the cinematic steadicam opp. All in all I can honestly say it was one of the best experiances of my life. Got on well with all the cast and crew and secured my next feature on super 16 for 6 weeks in france if all goes to plan.
  21. Thats greate news Robin ;) I loved that place for some reason, perhaps all the steadicams as well :) -matt
  22. Yes indeede Alec :D The confusion should be over now. I remeber when I first joined I started reading the names of people who posted here. I couldn't belive the amount of famous operators who were using their real names here. Truly incredible and I might say it was a life changing inspiration having you guys for guidance. I hope one day some kid might see my name and be like OMFG thats that dude from that film etc..... -Cheers -Matt 'FORMAT' Burton.
