  1. Wow the only thing missing from that picture is a dear with an AK.

    Not impressed.

But thats just my opinion, im sure you have your own reasons to justify the slaughter of innocent animals.

    Peace

  2. Why not contact Tiffen to ask them directly? Let us know what you find out.

One of the main reasons i'm posting here is to document my findings so it might help others in the future.

So far the Pilot is looking like a nice affordable system. I wounder how durable they will be in the hands of art college students :o

  3. I'd say you should go for a used steadicam clipper 2 or mk-v nexus perhaps even a brand new steadicam archer would suite.

However film is something you might end up wanting to do later down the road, so perhaps look for a rig that is 24v capable etc.

20k is a good amount to play with so you might have to balance toys (add ons) with base system if you are intending to get follow focus and video transmitters etc.

  4. Now I have been fortunate enough to use the camera and see some interim results I can safely say the competition have a lot of problems on their hands!

Nice review Richard can't wait to see some steadi footage at 4k

  5. Here are some pictures.

    Jon

    Very Very nice

What was the weight like ?

I remeber a time when people thought the red was little more than a pipe dream.

Glad things are taking off now.

Interesting that all the ports ont the side of the camera are so exposed, i take it their is some kind of cover or plugs for them ?

    Cheers for sharing.

  6. I have to disagree with Chris, I dont think the flyer vest was designed for anything like the weight of the 900.

Compare it to the ultra or any other heavy weight vest and you will see more padding and better adjustment options.

I always found the flyer vest adequate but could have been far better for padding an adjustment. Messing about with the velcro waist strap was always a pain and the chest plate needed padding for a better fit.

I'm not saying the vest is bad at all but some modification could make it 200% better.

  7. The front of the vest dug into me at the bottom. Couldn't find an adjustment to make it more comfortable - it really needs a wider bit of metal at the bottom so that the pressure spreads across the pelvis rather than digging into the bladder area! Could improvise something I suppose, but didn't have time on the hectic shoot.

Chris just incase you missed it the first time :P

I'm doing well Eric, just finished the first cut of a new music video. haha not quite broken out of them yet.

  8. This thread should be called "how badly can you over load a flyer"!

Uhum, been their done that with a 750 and 900 and I don't remeber it being much fun.

The gimbol becomes useless under heavy loads and the vest gets rarther painfull.

Still Lets see some pics

  9. Indeed a greate shame some of the more experianced opps feel this way, I have only been around for a few years but have witnessed my fair share of nastyness and thoughless comments on this forum. I might add that 90% of posts are written with only the best of intent, and only a small percent seem to have some 'other' kind of agenda.

My view on this is that the genuine comunity should rise against the 'others' and put this forum back on track. When people stop posting it only serves to censor the comunity and this puts out a bad image of us all.

PS I fully understand people being to busy to post and I wish I was in this possition more often.
