  1. There should be a ball detent that keeps the latch stowed away so that it doesn't swing open, but It sounds like the threads are stripped on the one side of the latch. If you're in LA I can take a quick look at it for you.
  2. Ron, you refer to Jumbo's as a butt joint if I'm not mistaken.
  3. The screw is a stainless 10-32 x 5/8. The wrench for this screw is a 5/32. Get it straight Baldwin. Jiminy!
  4. Afton, your joinery work looks superlative! Did you dowel the flat return piece to the angled piece that eventually joins the block at the back of the box for strength? In some previous boxes you've chosen splines or keys in that place. Really fine work. Tommy

  7. I might have one laying around in my old parts. Are you still looking for one?
  8. Short and curlies are always an extra charge, unless you're Uncle Ron, then I include them for free. The MDR2 Mount? The H bracket that attaches to the MDR or the T bracket which attaches to the DB3? T
  9. Hi Michael, I do the wiring at PRO and Jarrett is correct, you cannot hack the video line and turn it into an HD line. From what I know the data packets get lost throughout the unshielded wiring and solder between the upper and lower junction box. I don't have an old junction box in front of me to know for sure, but I also don't think there is enough room between the lower junction box housing and the junction box connector to run anything like a mini BNC. I'm kind of adventurous when it comes to this stuff so I know it'd be fun to do if you decide to do it. Whether or not the end result will be successful is another matter. Have you talked to David Hable (sp) at Cramped Attic yet? He has done quite a few upgrades and may have some good information for you. If I understand what you mean, you do lose the Lemo 1S 12v only connector if you upgrade to a cinelive but you still have 2 larger Lemo 2B power connectors for camera power.
  10. This is the Dave Emmerichs design. Sells for $650 new. Make me an offer.
  11. Now we're talking. That is an oldie! RIP Bob. I have some photos of Bob using that rig while Rob Carlson (a 1st assistant back then) pulls focus. I'll see if I can find them and post them later.
  12. Terry West makes cables for us here at PRO so I can recommend him without hesitation. Although, I haven't seen his work but have heard he is good, is fellow operator Jaret Morgan. I have also heard that Alan makes excellent cables as well.
  13. Right On, Beau! Your operating will now be at least, at a bare minimum, .0125% better than it was before. Just from the sheer positivity of joining the crew!
  14. I have a few parts. Want kind of PRO rig are you wanting to build?
  15. Here are some other pics. I guess Dave was 002. This Bob DeRose base isn't that old as far as these go but still fun to see his name on something!
  16. This is an old sled of mine in mothballs (note where GPI was doing business from at this time) .
  17. I wish Erwin would come around because he has a near encyclopedic knowledge of old gear including arms and the timing of when what was released. Erwin?... Erwin?...
  18. Hey Beau, the nameplates are something PRO does for every operator. When you order your PRO arm, sled and vest someday, your name will be on a nameplate to attach to your gear. I can't answer your question about the philosophical differences in design between PRO and CP, (or anyone else for that matter) because I haven't spent any meaningful time with those other companies to articulate to you what their philosophies are. I know that PRO's philosophy behind design, the obvious answer of "awesome" notwithstanding, is kept in the same vault as the recipe for the secret sauce. I know this is the oldest arm post but I get carried away when old gear is being talked about, therefore the photos of the sled vest and gimbal. I'll not deviate henceforth. Only arms.
  19. I guess Andrew was a little later; #008 on the gimbal and #035 on the sled.
