Hi, Steadicam Community. I joined this forum in March so that I could inquire about the whereabouts of Gene Taylor, a (former) Steadicam operator in Southern California. Although no one had any recent news, I received some very kind replies and I thank you. I know that he really loved being a Steadicam guy (to wit, his email address was "SteadiGene".) Anyway, FYI, after a dedicated and prolonged search, I finally discovered some very sad news. Our friend Gene took his own life in June 2006. I think I'll leave it at that on this semi-public forum, but if any friends need or want further information, please feel free to contact me privately. Hi, Steadicam guys: Please help me set my mind at ease: Does anyone know the whereabouts of Gene Taylor, or any other information? He's a Steadicam operator in southern California. I am a friend of his (we used to sing/socialize together) - but long about December 2004/January 2005, he abruptly fell out of touch - like he dropped off the face of the earth. Has something happened to him, do you know? If you know him and/or are in touch, please ask him to contact me. If you have any pertinent info, that would be great. I'd really appreciate it.
