  1. Maker Studios is a conglomerate of Youtube channels under the banner of a single company, and I'm not sure how well the various people under their banner communicate with each other.
  2. I wanna know what this photo was supposed to be.
  3. Why is that? why should we have our own? the reality of the situation is that I shouldn't have to own a follow focus either And yet we already do. It's a strange situation.
  4. Twojay is going to put it through the ringer, that's for sure.
  5. Looking to grab a dual rod monitor arm, preferrably either the Sachtler ACT2 monitor arm or the standard monitor arm that comes on Tiffen sleds, with 1.5 in. post clamp if possible. Will also consider XCS, as long as post clamp is 1.5 in. Send me a message or email me at DRSmollar@gmail.com
  6. I'll stick with my Recon for now. Waiting to hear how it holds up after it gets put through the ringer.
  7. Learn to switch sides. It could save your shot.
  8. As grateful as I am for compliments, the thing I like hearing more is when people I'm working with have good things to say about other Steadicam operators. "Hey, do you know [operator name]? I just worked with him/her. He/she was great!" It's nice to know that the people I consider my friends are getting positive responses to their work ethic/behavior.
  9. NBC was using Steadicam as well! It was an interesting night.
  10. So the gist I'm getting is that it converts at the Rx end, and regardless of what format I put in at the Tx end it will output both HDMI and SDI simultaneously through the Rx? I'm getting ready for my first DSLR job with the Recon Ultra. If what you say is correct, then the best solution for me would be to cross convert the HDMI to SDI, input SDI into my monitor and the Tx, and then I will still be able to output to an HDMI monitor from the Rx. If that's the case, I'll pick up an HDMI-SDI converter for 200-300 bucks and i'll be set.
  11. The array's are built custom, but the panel antennas are most likely these: Laird TriBand 5ghz Panel Antenna I'm almost 100% certain these are the antennas that HP Video uses.
  12. Here's the inside of a Recon Ultra. Thomas, I'm looking at panel antenna right now and, while I'm not finding an antenna that takes 4 connectors, I feel it's possible to create an array out of some of the ones I'm finding. I'll keep digging.
  13. Guys... I think Chris was here. I mean, I was half asleep so I'm not certain, but I could swear there was someone standing over me with a tape measure. This hasn't happened to me since I was dating that Scripty.
  14. I pick my shoes based on location and the movements I'm going to be doing. My current favorite pair are my Keen Targhee II's w/ SuperFeet inserts. I use them for almost everything outdoors, especially if I'm going to be running. They're light and sturdy and the inserts make them really comfortable. For indoor & studio work, I alternate between an old pair of Emerica The Leo's and my Vibrams Bikila LS that double as my weightlifting shoes. Really no rhyme or reason to it; I just sometimes get bad looks from people who don't approve of exposed toes. I get the same amount of feedback from both, and it really helps with slow movements.
  15. Here's the spec sheet. The cross conversion capabilities are interesting. The built in recorder is a neat feature and the price is definitely a plus.
  16. So Will, you're saying that if the antennas you linked were ordered with the SMA attatchments they would work for the Recon? The biggest complaint I've heard about it is that the stock antennas are flimsy and fragile.
  17. it looks IDENTICAL to the Switronix Recon transmitter.
  18. These are the kinds of deals people usually pounce on, people!
