  1. Not sure if it helps but I got a really good deal for insurance (equipment rental, PL etc) from Allan Chapman James - and I don't work for them :) http://www.acjltd.co.uk/ I think it is called the solo policy - Good luck flying thanks Rolfe
  2. I did loads of jobs for "Enron" and they had a very creative approach to the whole thing. And it was very bad what they did! then I noticed the UK Govt were doing the same thing by 'outsourcing and off-booking' loss making sections like the NHS and Railtrack but using their asset base against loans my 2 cynical 'got burned' cents or pence thanks Rolfe
  3. I am looking at advice on a rig to buy. I have an Arri 2C and tend to shoot more and more on film then on video. I have done the NTFS workshop with J Ward a couple of years ago - but got more and more work operating than Steadicam-ing. I have used a 3A and an Ultra and actually tended to prefer the old trusty 3A. Easier for doorways and stairs. I am new to the whole thing but spend some time on the kit - not huge amounts though Any advice on which rig to go for - I am mainly looking at a 12V system with the possible option to upgrade to 24V. Also what kind of price does a solid 3A go for? thanks Rolfe
  4. Well - I finally found a decent Cine60 base (after almost 5 months) from Visual Products. While I wait for it to be shipped here (with a sliding base plate) Does anyone have the exact or rough weight of a fully loaded Arri 2C, 400ft mag, film, cine60 base? Does anyone have any recommendations or advice for flying the 2C on a budget. Things to look out for, power issues, balancing, recommended rigs thanks Rolfe
  5. I am fairly new to steadicam - my questions is about how to fly a 2C - but this is the hard part - has anyone mounted a 2C on a steadicam with either the Pistol Grip or the High Hat it comes with - and not with the $7000 CE flat base oe Cine 60 base- Any ideas - I would imagine it would be possible to drill the high hat with a second hole then mount it on a base plate and attach that but the camera would be really high and would require quite a high pivot point to keep the vertical balance. THe lens control and Video assist are sorted thanks Rolfe Klement www.creativesunshine.com
