  1. The Intersex Plate V2 is now in stock! Order your's today, and they will start shipping tomorrow! http://mediablackout.net/product/intersex-plate/
  2. Hi Michael. They do not require a heat sink if operated within the specified voltage and current range. These use a switching regulator, so there is less energy wasted as heat when compared to linear voltage regulators.
  3. Dynamo is now shipping! Order here: http://mediablackout.net/product/dynamo-dc-converter/
  4. Hi Steven, First off, you have to use your full, real name on this forum. Second, can you tell us what model monitor you have, and what input you are using (what's it labeled?) Have you tried going directly into the monitor from the camera? do you have your Atomos set to change the signal format in any way, or is it just changing it to SDI. Have you tried using different cables just in case one is bad? Can you post a picture of your setup?
  5. I can go to low mode in about a minute as well. In this modern world we live in, I see no need to flip the camera. I have a zephyr, but I don't unscrew the monitor. I just tilt it so the screen is facing me, then extend the monitor post to assist for the CG change. I do think Frederic's yoke would be a great addition, though.
  6. You might have problems if the batteries aren't close in voltage. They might try to charge each other.
  7. I don't know if "medical application" and "without the need for certification" can be on the up and up, especially when you're asking how to design it on a stabilizer forum.
  8. That pictures shows it's about 1/16" thick, which is about 16 AWG. That should be plenty.
  9. Almost ready! It's been slow-going, but I should have them soon. I'll keep you posted!
  10. So what do you find more important in a Lemo version: the robustness of the connector, or compatibility with existing cables?
  11. Greg posted a picture of that a while back, but made no mention of it since.
  12. I could use a Lemo FFA.0S.302 to avoid accidents from happening. Would those interested in a Lemo version specifically want the standard FGG.0B.302 connectors, or would another connector suffice?
  13. That's pretty good. About the same as the Vitec zero delay codec.
  14. That sounds like a good product. What is the latency in milliseconds?
  15. Is it based off of the Vitec Sprint? http://www.vitec.com/products/encoders/portable-encoders/product/show/MGW-Sprint/
  16. I would be interested in seeing some photos and specs for the encoder.
  17. If I add a Lemo option, what Lemo connectors would be best? There could be the problem of an AC using a Lemo to USB meant for the Dynamo for another device. Let's say the plug a USB power device directly into an Alexa 12v out without the dynamo. Should I use a Lemo connector that isn't common? That could mean you have to buy more expensive Lemo cables. Alan
  18. Hey Afton, Cost is the biggest issue. I like these connectors much more than other connectors in their price range. They're high quality, light weight, and they are weather proof when mated. Having said that, I can make (and have made) a version with 2-pin Lemo connectors in the same enclosure. That brings the price up to $110 for the regulator. plus the input/output cables are more expensive, bringing the overall cost of ownership up. I may list a Lemo version on the site as an alternative if you think the cost isn't prohibitive. Thanks Alan
  19. For starters, it only has a 30 mW output, as opposed to the 60 mW output on something like the Axis1.
  20. Thanks for the kind words, Peter. The Dynamo will be shipping starting next week for $65. The first batch will be relatively small, but production will ramp-up subsequently. Here are a few features of the Dynamo: Input Range: 3-30V Adjustable Output: 4-12V, 2A (boosts or steps-down voltage), adjustable with a #0 Phillips screwdriver A wide variety of input and output cables via Micro-Con-X jacks (compatible with AJA Mini Converter cables) Protection Circuits: Reverse polarity protection, over-current protection, thermal shutdown (activates at 165°C), and an undervoltage lockout LCD readout with on/off switch allows you to clearly adjust the output voltage while minimizing light pollution during use Small Size: 2.4x1.4x.8"
  21. New product on the website, Dynamo DC Converter! http://mediablackout.net/product/dynamo-dc-converter/
  22. I'm doing a small production run of these, and they'll be ready next week. If you're interested in grabbing one of these from the first batch, head on over to: http://mediablackout.net/product/dynamo-dc-converter/
  23. Bo, yes Peter Hoare produced the Axis 1. His system is not a rebranding of another product.
