  1. I don't know if this problem had been fixed, but I've had this problem twice. Sometimes the HD-SDI line or of the camera will go haywire. Don't panic, just restart the camera. I was once shooting a person against a solid colored wall, and the horizontal alignment went crazy on the Dragon. It shifted the entire image to the right, and wrapped the image back around to the other side of the monitor like an old video game. Since the wall was all one color and I had all of the camera information off, it didn't look like there was anything wrong. I kept hearing the director and DP telling me to frame up and center the actor. It looked centered to me, but since I was broadcasting from the brain HDMI through my Arrow+, they weren't having the alignment problem. They thought I was having a stroke or something.
  2. When in doubt, ikan products are most likely rebranded.
  3. Hi James. The original Bolt has the same hole pattern, so it fits just as well. You'll notice that the Bolt sticks up above the plate to give clearance for the original Bolt's internal antennas.
  4. Grant Culwell was kind enough to bring his Bolt Pro 600 by to test with the first article of the V2 plate. I should have the first batch in a few weeks!
  5. Hi Ozzie, there isn't anything for Bartech. The Cabrio requires a control box that translates the signal. There is such a box for Preston and CMotion, I believe.
  6. Hey peoples, I'm looking to get an Atomos Connect H2S for a good price. Let me know if you have one, and what you want for it. I'm located in Los Angeles. Thanks Alan
  7. Hi Jonathan, Before you do anything, you should be aware that the Pilot is not meant to power anything too gnarly. I'm not sure of the spec, but I wouldn't try to Power an Epic from it. Having said that, I used to own a Pilot, and I would power a Bartech from the top stage all of the time. The best option would be to have a 2.1mm DC barrel to your follow focus cable made. On that note, what accessories, specifically, do you want to power from the top stage? Alan
  8. Hi Rob, my email went down while I was moving my server, so I missed some messages. I'll send you an email. Thanks - Alan
  9. Hi Walter, I'll be posting some photos and videos this week.
  10. I now have a pouch specifically for the Intersex Plate: http://mediablackout.net/product/intersex-plate-pouch/ It will come with the V2 plate, but can be bought separately for V1 owners. I'm sure it has other uses, as well! I will be producing some videos that demonstrate all the features of the V2 plate once I have approved first article this week.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, William. I'm glad I could help! I have a new website up, so I can do international orders directly (Square Market is still up, but domestic only): http://mediablackout.net The Run-D.S.M.C. Cable can be found here: http://mediablackout.net/product/epic-runstop-assembly-for-bartech/
  12. I dropped the price $100 for the version 1 plate to get ready for the new stock. Anyone who doesn't need the Bolt mounting pattern should jump on this while supplies last! http://mediablackout.net/product/intersex-plate/
  13. For anyone who doesn't need the Bolt mounting pattern, I've put the Version 1 plates on sale for $100. http://mediablackout.net/product/intersex-plate/
  14. This post has been a long-time coming, but I'm finally getting around to it. For anyone who uses cameras with LANC control with a digital Bartech system, you can use the C300 start/stop assembly to trigger the camera. I'm not sure exactly which cameras are compatible and which are not, but I've tested it with BlackMagic Cameras, and it works great. It doesn't just send a start/stop trigger. It has a microcontroller built in that continually checks the record status of the camera. It also has a little tally light on the assembly to confirm that the camera is rolling. Having said that, I would like to see the Bartech with other LANC functionality (maybe Iris control). It also pulls 5V directly from the LANC port on the camera, so it doesn't require external power like a RED start/stop cable does (I know all about that). This is a great little cable for any digital Bartech owner, and I'm hoping more people realize that it exists and not just for C300.
  15. Now back in stock: Intersex Plate: http://mkt.com/alan-rencher/intersex-plate I will have a version two plate out soon that will include holes to mount a Bolt, and it will be anodized black. It will be listed for $150 In the meantime, I have more of the version one plate in stock. I listed it for $125 until I run out again.
  16. Hey, the Intersex Plate is back in stock. I've been doing a lot of running around trying to get this going. I had some problems with my machine shop, but I have found another one. I will have a version two plate out soon that will include holes to mount a Bolt, and it will be anodized black. It will be listed for $150 In the meantime, I have more of the version one plate in stock. I listed it for $125 until I run out again. http://mkt.com/alan-rencher/intersex-plate
  17. If you look below the LCD, you'll notice a small hole; There is a potentiometer in there that you can adjust with a small Phillips screwdriver.
  18. Ariel, you should contact support at PLC electronics. Their service is excellent, and they'll be glad to help.
  19. Same as AJA uses for its Mini-Converters, Micro-Con-X. It will use the same polarity, so it will be compatible with AJA cables.
  20. New to the store: P-Tap Plug to Lemo Socket http://mkt.com/alan-rencher/p-tap-plug-to-lemo-socket-adapter Use this to adapt your Steadicam Power cables for use on P-Tap sources!
  21. There are a few mentions of these did on the forums. All I can say is that you get what you pay for, which is something that looks like a Steadicam, and that's where the similarities end.
  22. Maybe a ground issue on the video line?
  23. I bought this a few years ago, and only used is a few times before DVX/HVX/HPX cameras were replaced by Epic, F55, etc. I just don't see myself using this thing anymore. It's in near mint condition. MSRP of $169 USD Asking $125, includes shipping within the US. Located in LA. Contact: alan@mediablackout.net or 323.213.9427
  24. Hi Walter, I'm still working out the price for a production run, but a hand-made preproduction regulator costs $65. If anyone is interested in a pre-production version, please email alan@mediablackout.net. Thanks Alan
