  1. Great mod! I love Berkey System! I've been recommending them for years! Great prices, and its all made in the USA (not like Wooden Camera).
  2. One constant hindrance for many camera operators is the lack of professional power outputs available for accessories on their rigs. The Rencher Industries Mini Lemo Splitter solves this by providing a minimal footprint breakout to three 2-pin Lemo Jacks. The receptacle housing is meant to be velcroed in place on the camera, Steadicam, gimbal, etc. The Mini Splitter can also be ordered with coiled cable or gimbal-friendly nylon jacketed silicone cable. If you need light and flexible cable for use with gimbal rigs (DJI Ronin, Freefly Movi, Letus Helix), silicone cable is the preferred choice. This splitter uses genuine Lemo, Anton/Bauer, and Hirose connectors, as well as flexible Mogami Cable. As always, or cables are assembled in Culver City, CA. Custom configurations with various jacks and playing can be made upon request, just contact us. Shop now: http://mediablackout.net/product/mini-lemo-splitter/
  3. Update: Thanks for everyone who has pre ordered so far. Extra special thanks to those who got their order in within the special pre order discount window! I received first article sample today (I love that UPS ground delivers next day within Southern CA), and I will be testing with the Samurai, Samurai Blade, and hopefully The Ninja Blade and Ninja 2. The final product will be deburred and anodized black.
  4. I finally got around to getting the kit together for a photo and list: Comes with - Paralinx Arrow+ Transmitter 4x Paralinx Arrow+ Receivers Paralinx Crossbow 2x Paralinx Shields P-Tap Crossbow Power Cable Alexa 2-pin Crossbow Power Cable Crossbow Link Cable 4x 12" HDMI Cables 2x Transmitter USB Cables 2x Remote + IR Cables 2x Receiver AC Adapters 2x Receiver P-Tap Cables 2x Transmitter P-Tap Cables 2x USB Female P-Tap Cables
  5. It's probably a cost issue and harder to implement on cheaper products (my guess, anyway).
  6. It's not Amimon tech in this product. I haven't been able to test one yet, but I think the delay is listed as <30ms. That's not at good as amimon, but it's still less than a frame. It also doesn't support PSF or timecode.
  7. Selling used Paralinx Arrow+ 1:4 with 2x Shields, 1x Crossbow, a bunch of HDMI and Regulator Cables for $1,800. Located in LA. Photos coming soon Alan@MediaBlackout.net
  8. You can also set the fan speed in the menu. Set it to maximum while in standby to help cool off having overheating issues.
  9. Hey Dennis, I went the route of buying a new smaller rig (Zephyr) with a loan from my bank. The smaller Price tag allowed me to also buy a Bartech System, batteries, stand, cart, etc. When I need to fly larger cameras, I dry hire a larger rig from another operator. I just add the rental rate into my quote to production, so I'm not losing any money. If you can get a large enough loan, I would suggest buying a complete used kit from another operator. Do some research, figure out what they've been selling for, and get yourself an older Pro, XCS, Tiffen or other rig that can handle the bulk of what you'll be shooting. Buying a rig that can be upgraded would be the best way to go. And remember, get cash in hand before you find a rig! Fly safe! Alan
  10. Marc, The easiest way is to upload the photo to a server (plc server, or image hosting platform) then copy the image url, and use the image button in the editor:
  11. Great, I have all the right stuff to make tally cables for this monitor!
  12. The reason they gave so many discounts on the high bright was because they weren't selling well. I doubt they would invest any more money in a high bright after that experience (but maybe that will change with Vitec backing). I certainly would think they won't rely on Cinetronic for any panel upgrades. The rumors for this year are a recorder/monitor to compete with Convergent Design and Atomos, anda new EVF to replaceme the DP4.
  13. They told me last year at nab that they had to scrap the record function. It won't be added. If I remember correctly, I think it's a hardware issue.
  14. What connector does it use for tally? Is it a phone connector like some of the other monitors?
  15. Media Blackout has started rolling out camera power cables. These cables are designed to deliver high current to power hungry digital cinema cameras; the latest of which being the Arri Amira: The Media Blackout Arri Amira Power Cable comes standard with high-quality, extremely flexible rubber cord (both coiled and non-coiled are made in the USA). Cable assemblies can be ordered in 12V and 24V varieties. As always, we use only genuine Fischer, Lemo, Anton/Bauer and Neutrik parts; high-quality, USA manufactured 18 AWG power cable; and our cable are always assembled at our office in Culver City, CA. 16. Is there a web page up with specs yet?
  17. There are quite a few threads on that subject on the forum. Here's a tip for easier searching: go to google and type, "site:steadicamforum.com keyword" Replace the word "keyword" with what you want to search for, and don't include the quotes. Google with them perform a search of this site with your search terms. That works better than the built in search function.
  18. Hey Ryan, searching through the marketplace here on the forum is probably the best way to see a long history of used rig sales.
  19. It looks like they're taking a page from the CMotion handbook. The motors look like they are just receiving a serial connection from the wireless receiver. The drivers are probably built into the motors. That means no cross-compatibility.
  20. Hello Steadi People! I have designed a mount that will attach an Atomos Samurai or Samurai Blade to the Intersex Plate, or to the XCS Utility Plate. This mount will allow you to attach the recorder to an unused battery plate. I am trying to get some pre orders in, so that I have an idea of how many to order on the first run. With that said, anyone who orders this week will get special pricing. http://mediablackout.net/product/samurai-mount-for-intersex-plate/ From my website:
  21. I like to keep a stock of used Gold Mount plates at my disposal, so if anyone has any Anton/Bauer Gold mount plates lying around collecting dust, email me: Alan@MediaBlackout.net
  22. Hey Jim, any chance the manufacturer might still have a part number the that custom spool that other people could use to bring it back to life?
