Backstage junior brake modification
RonBaldwin replied to axel ebermann's topic in Cases/Carts/Stands and Transport
When I saw this thread I was incredibly excited that that the brake solution for these crap casters might actually come from a guy named Axle -
Hi all. Aja offers a few power cable options, including a 3pin Fischer for Arri and a 4 pin lemo for...? Anyone know if it is pro vid/pwr comparable? Thanks, rb

Me thinks what you are looking for will cost many times more than your "sled"

Wipe the baby oil off your post you fool!

Pretty sweet! Now I know why Rich was asking about the socket block/klassen harness :-)

I believe Terry West still has most of a cp-35? It was, I believe, Cinema Product's first production model? The motor for the 2C was in the lower sled AMD the driveshaft ran through the "center post". Good times. We've come a long way baby -
just remember using a fully loaded Alexa (28 to 30 lbs) on a typical "big sled" (20 to 23 lbs) will get ya pretty close to the max of 4 blues. Definitely get at least two black canisters.

Some would say yes, but I subscribe to the "jack of all trades, master of none" mantra...as do many producers. Smaller projects I can see this being an advantage, but not sure I would have a reel with everything on one

Look at the new cp-35! -
the Kia Soul has a great feature, every time you start it the Gray's Anatomy soundtrack automatically starts up and the gps voice says "you go girl".

I cannot wait to see it! I know it is done right...I will take one

Tom Gleason at cinewigits makes a plate that goes on the bottom of the tb6 with some threaded holes. Might be able to use this plate to adapt to something else?

HELP...Problems Shooting w/ Triax Cable
RonBaldwin replied to Mikko Vuokko's topic in General Discussion
when I run a cable (rarely, but usually with gyros) I set it up just like Mr Silvera does. I didn't like the cable blocking the monitor -
Pro gimbals do not require centering -- the behaviour you are describing sounds more like the gimbal was damaged/bent...specifically the fork?

Very nice! Taku is fantastic - you are lucky to be close to those peeps

Not having owned an M1 I did not realize he was in MT...someone there should go pay him a visit. We should not let people get away with this crap!
-
Maybe Jim can chime in with the guy's location and we can all go pay him a visit?

I have one with the backstage conversion I have not used in years. If you are in LA you can come look at it and see if you are interested.

Hybrid Brushless roll cage on top of Steadicam.

Jim...since Adad holds the patent on this response to sarcasm you cannot call me with that message at that time unless you clear it with him or pay him a royalty. You can, however, call a little earlier or later and change it up a bit to avoid patent infringement . I find it sad that all the short tempered, angry, and frustrated people who use that phrase to end a discussion because they have no sense of humor (or clue) have to pay him royalties as they escape potentially thought provoking conversations. Come to think of it...most teenagers will now owe him money because that is the goto ender for their discussions because they know not how to continue or end it in a decent and human way. I look forward to your calls my friend! ...and fuck off! -

A very good point Andy. I thank you for prolonging your laughter for this thoughtful discussion :-) I still have a smirk on my face...I feel honored to have been the target of his bad grammar and expletives for being correct. I'd be so disappointed if it was merely a jerky boy prank call...it's so much more meaningful knowing the city and student film set it came from. The Vote for Pedro campaign is so 2011. We needed a new one and it landed right in my lap. -

It was the funniest thing that has happened to me in a long, long time! Even if I saw Adad's name and not just a Philly number I would have picked up. Seems I struck a nerve for him to regress to junior high level insults. -

I confess...I have never been awakened by such a great phone call...Abad took time out of his busy schedule of thread-jacking to call me about 5 min ago...he asked if it was Ron Baldwin the steadicam op, then said "I wanted to tell you to fuck off personally" and hung up. I was laughing so hard I had to check the forum to see what in the world happened. Wow. Abad (or should I call him Adad or Ahole? Tough one) is a gentleman teeming with class. I truly hope the mods keep his comment up so the steadicam world can witness this guys tact and class and know what kind of guy they will be dealing with if they ever come across him on a student film.
