  1. This bracket mounts the display to the viewfinder mount of a alexa or red (epic, scarlet, one), that use 19mm viewfinder rod.

Keeps the display at the same two positions, right or left, so easy to rebalance the steadicam.

    Also works WITH viewfinder.

After using mine for a while and due to demand from ACs and Operators, i made a few of these brackets.

  2. Antlers from Missing Something? Technologies with three different weight settings and three different post heights.

This the extendible version. Minimum length 67 cm max. length 95 cm.

Some cosmetic scratches but all in all in excellent working condition.
The item is located in Germany. So EU import tax is already paid.

  3. Brand new, I got 4 of these made for me and some colleagues. This one is left for sale.

Fits 19mm rods, 15 mm light weight standard and 15 mm rods on dovetail plates with narrow spacing, like pro and xcs.

Compatible with bartech, c-motion, arri and everything else that has a 3/8" or 1/4" mounting hole.

It keeps the receiver with the camera not with the rig. Very useful for quick change from and back to the rig.

  4. I had a broken m-one (potentiometer) years ago. The promised 3 day turnaround took 3 week in the end.

Now my potentiometer broke again. After reading all these stories, I decided to reair it myself.

The part is available from electronic supply but it needs to be modified on a lathe.

It is a quite expensive and high quality part, so you don´t expect it to break that often.

In my motor the main bearing was manufactured with waaaay too much bearing play. So all the load, was held by the potentiometer shank, instead of the bearing. This lead to the repeated failure of the potentiometer.

The bearing parts were re-engeneered to the right size (tolerances here are 1/100 mm, my beraring was 2/10mm !! too big)

Now I have a working motor and eliminated the reason for the potentiometer failure.

Yes, it is possible to repair a m-one, but it is really not straight forward.

  5. Here is a photo of a real setup with a codex. It is balanced.

    The bracket weights roughly 250g / 0.5lbs

The setup is light in the front: ultraprime lens, only one focus motor, 2 stage LMB-5, no filters, no cinetape, no mdr.

In the back, there is even a bebob hotswap still on the camera, that keeps the codex 1,5" further out as it should be. Unfortunately there was no codex mountig brcket available, so it is fixed with a focus rod and a motor brcket and some rubber ties. Not ideal, but good enough to test the balance.

If you look at the photos in the other back-heavy thread, no one is that far to the back.

I´ll also offer an extension kit that allows mounting the dovetail further back. Still using the sony hook.

The new bracket is good for regular and front-heavy setups as well, as it uses two mounting points. This will give more stability and reduce vibration.

This pic is for demonstration only. Setup is not balanced!

  6. It took a while until I had my first Alexa- Codex job and saw the need for a bracket, that allows more fore – aft adjustment.

So I built this one, as I was not happy with the already available ones.

    V2mounted.JPG

    These are the advantages:

    - ZERO height is added

    - no need for the arri V-wedge or other parts supplied by the rental house

    - lock down of the sony style hook in the back with quick release. This also eliminates a possible source of vibration.

    - light weight

    - large fore – aft range with many mounting holes. Back heavy setups can be mounted. Center of gravity of the setup can go back to the 2nd R of the ARRI logo.

    - works with YOUR dovetail plate with arri spacing, that already fits your topstage. There are different tolerances from different manufactures. So I tried to avoid making a new dovetail.

Anybody interested, please drop me a line at steadicamera@gmx.de

The bracket will be available very soon and of course black anodized

Price is not fixed yet, but will be more reasonable than some other, bigger plates
