  1. Haha damn, didn't get any notifications of your replies and only just checked the website now...Alas I was a bit too late!

If the sale doesn't go through, please let me know via email nico@n-joy.tv

Either way thank you very much for the very detailed information!

Glad to hear from you Brett and thank you also for your 2ct on the matter. My main-goal is to shorten the rig and to minimize any vibration, so everything you both mentioned makes me think the Gen4 is right for me. Thank you dude and let me know next time you're back in NYC!

  2. Hi Shawn,

I currently own the Gen 2 battery rack and am using it with the PRO "CinemaHD" Electronics and am thinking of upgrading to the Gen 4.

I noticed you also used to own the Gen 2 rack and wanted to get your input on the pros and cons of either of them.

Also do you happen to know if the Gen 4 works with the CinemaHD Electronics?

Thank you for any advice you can give!

    Best,

    Nicolas

Hot Rod Camera's Custom modified Canon 7D camera with PL Mount, HDMI OUT NOT WORKING!!

It allows the operator to mount any PL-Mount lens onto this custom modded 7D and use the video functionality of the camera. The Camera has been custom modified by Hot Rods Camera, which means that the shutter-mirror has been removed in order to allow for maximum flange depth.

The optical viewfinder has also been deactivated in the mod so all monitoring and framing has to be done using the build in screen. This is NOT a normal Canon 7D. It has been modified to allow for Cine-lenses to be used, hence can't really be used with any normal DSLR lenses. I just don't have enough use for it anymore.

    It sells new for $4900

    Condition:

The Camera it self is in great working condition, with normal wear and tear and cosmetic defects.

However the HDMI output has been damaged and does NOT work.

The Video/USB video output is still in great working condition and allows for external video monitoring/framing on a SD-compatible monitor via the included USB to RCA Cable.

Also included: 1x Hot Rod Camera's 15mm Rod Mount

1x Zacuto Z-Finder (worth $400 alone) that can mount directly on the 7D-screen for accurate focussing handheld

    1x Canon tc-80n3 Timelapse Controller (worth $70)

    1x Hot Rods Hand-held mount

    1x Canon Battery.

No 15mm rods or Lenses included.

I ONLY SHIP TO VERIFIED PAYPAL-ADDRESS AFTER PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED via Paypal.

    NO PO-BOXES.

    US/CANADA ONLY. NO RETURNS.

  7. I have my F-3 in front of me now with the latest firmware v 1.31 and S-Log 4444 Dual Link Upgrade.

Just to confirm: you CAN output and record HD-SDI signals and SD-composite signals (output only) at the same time.

The setting for that is as follows:

    1. Set the SD/HDMI/iLink I/O Select to SD HDMI i & DVCam

    2. Set the Dual Link & Gamma Select to 1.5G YPbPr 422 & S-log

Tada, now you can output HD-SDI (through HD SDI A ) and SD composite (Through Video OUT and HDMI OUT) at the same time.

You CAN'T however output a HD HDMI signal at the same time, so I guess external recording is limited to the HD-SDI port.

That's why I love the F-3: It just has all the buttons and outputs you would want from a camera.

However, this might be an S-log Upgrade feature, so it might not work on all cameras.

    Hope this helps!

    Best,

    Nico

  8. Rich, I've already contacted Rob concerning his earlier post about the plate, however the shipping charges deterred me from pursuing his offer. Thank you though for pointing him out for me!

Robert, do you have the contact details of Micheal O' Shea? He's a Steadicam guy too or does is also manufactured these things? Thanks for your reply!
