  1. Hit him over the head with it a few times and then ask him if it has enough "Weight" A follow focus with and adjustable friction knob would be a nice feature, I don't know how to do it on the current bartech though.
  2. Has anyone used Sony's 7.4" OLED monitor on their rigs? That might be a good one for the shootout too.
  3. I got a Marshal on ebay for under a grand. I've never had any issue seeing it in full sun, even with it's stupid glossy screen...
  4. Probably a good idea, but the closest reasonable stocked hobby shop is an hour away without traffic. I just placed an order with McMaster-Carr
  5. Home Depot only had screws 6-32 and larger. Will check a local hardware store before ordering online. Thanks for the help everyone, I'd still be banging my head against the wall if I didn't have a forum of helpful people to turn to.
  6. It's a 3/32" allen wrench, so it's not metric.
  7. Tom, I looked at the McMaster-Carr page and my brain started fizzling. I think I got the right screw (part #92196A107).
  8. None of the hardware stores near me carry screws this small. I checked.
  9. More gimbal problems! The gimbal clamp is missing a screw. I don't know if it was like this when I got it back or if it fell out, but I only have one screw on the gimbal clamp now... Calling Micheal Craigs when the California shop opens today...
  10. When you do the 92Lb challenge on the go, do you fly in flan from Jumbo's or do you buy flan locally?
  11. Why do I keep watching these Segway steadicam videos? Every time I watch one, I just want one more! Great shots!
  12. My gimbal saga (page two) has a good description of how to balance a gimbal. Ian's post also has a good description on how to do it. If all else fails, call Micheal Craigs.
  13. When they fixed my gimbal, they didn't balance it at the factory for some reason and I had to do it myself. Mine actually broke right around NAB so Peter was really busy and Dan Ikeda walked me through balancing it. It's not that hard, just plan on spending at least an hour with it. If you can get the gimbal off, save yourself the cost and headache of shipping a master series sled.
  14. I use HelioHost and I haven't had any issues with them. Never had downtime, easy script installation, and it's FREE! I use a wordpress platform mainly because I wanted a blog on my site, but it works great.
  15. What and I repeat, WHAT? Who in their right mind would even offer such a low rate? Tell them to go buy a glidecam and bugger off. Thanks for looking out for the community.
  16. You used the Flan from Jumbo's again didn't you...
  17. I heard Ron tried the 92lb challenge again and is back in the burn unit.
  18. Since Ron hasn't said it yet, Vote For Pedro! Great video Perdo! Very thorough.
  19. The new waist pads may help hold your underwear up giving you an unfair advantage. We'd have to butter the pads after scotch guarding them to keep it fair.
  20. I'd love to see someone try the 92Lb challenge with this vest.
  21. Mac is so much better than PC! Wait that's what we're talking about here, right? Two things that do the same thing, each with weird obnoxious fan bases arguing that the other one sucks and theirs is the best.
  22. If you do end up making your own, make sure you know what the largest camera you'll be flying is. I built mine and then a month later, someone wanted me to shoot with their Ex3. 2 inches too short and 1.5 inches too narrow. I ended up mounting the two plates together with a couple of bolts and using it as a plate not a cage. Does anyone have a JA cage they could send me the dimensions on?
  23. It got moved up front next to the slot machines and flan slip and slide. I've noticed that with my rig with my arm with my operating, the heavier and more inert the sled is, the less the footsteps show up. Any test of how well an arm performs should hopefully take this into consideration.
