Greetings All! I created a versatile kit that allows you to fly a big rig at a low entry price point and quickly swap to gimble, hand-held or sticks with the SOS plate and Slingshot. I took a modular approach when creating the kit, so when you’re ready you can swap-in other sleds while keeping the arm, vest and support tools. I bought this Steadicam in 2020 from the talented Lohengrin Zaplain (RIP). I’m the second owner and primarily used this for flying on my own indie productions. The rig was made for heavier cameras, but the package includes a 15lb (6.8kg) weight plate that allows you to comfortably fly newer digital and lighter cameras up to a very comfortable operating weight. The 3A arm can be modified by Robert Luna to open up the bottom of its range. This kit is great for anyone looking to upgrade into a commercially useable rig without the budget for a brand new one. While a little older, it still comes with quite a few nice features. Note that the Transmission, FF and batteries all work. Happy to work with you on pricing and payments. $12,999.00 All-in (Plus Shipping) INCLUDED: 1x Tiffen ULTRA HD Sled Super post, motorised head and HD-SDI line added - Custom Cut Armoured case on wheels - Tiffen 15cm 6" (short) plate - Tiffen 30cm 12" plate - Weight Plate 15lb/7kg Modifications: - removal of the tilting stage - removal of the top post (weak post) - HDMI conections added - 12/24 V electronics bypassed and wired for 12V (electronics are still there) - New double V-mount mount 1x 6“ Transvideo Monitor and Yoke 1x 3A Arm - Good condition. Hello, I’m fairly new to the steadigang. I’ve been using the Archer 2 and the M2 rigs with a g50x arm from my school. I now have to get my own rig since I no longer have access to those. I’ve looked at the Zephyr as a first rig knowing I won’t be using anything bigger than an Alexa mini with Cooke mini series even though that’s pushing it a little. I’ve also seen a new steadicam “Rever One Stabilizer”. And I want to know if anyones heard of it. For a full Rever rig it’s about 13k and the weight capacity is about 42 pounds. I feel like it’s too good to be true for just 13k. I’ve contacted a few operators that own one through the companies IG tags. Some say they had issues and some say they do not. Does anyone own or use a Rever? If so, what are your thoughts. Or should I just go for the Zephyr? Thank you in advance!

As new, never used Steadicam Zephyr system. If you're here, you likely know what you're looking at and what this is so I'll keep it short. This is the complete package, current Steadicam Zephyr system, which can fly a total net camera load of 23 lbs (Arri Alexa mini is no problem. Ursa, FX6, and RED rigs also a breeze. This is the top-end rig in Steadicam's mid-range kits, and perfect for the commercial operator starting out, or someone who wants to keep their gear slim, yet professional and definitely recognizable. This is a true STEADICAM system, and includes everything as sold retail; Zephyr Sled with 7" HD Ultrabright Steadicam Monitor, A-30 Zephyr Arm, Zephyr Vest. Optional v-lock battery mount included. The only thing I've misplaced is the manual DVD and BNC to RCA adaptor plugs, both of which disappeared during a recent house move. Otherwise, everything as in the following link is included in the Steadicam flight case: https://tiffen.com/products/steadicam-zephyr-camera-stabilizer-with-7-hd-monitor?variant=29434095206442 This was bought to be part of a specialty camera equipment rental house's inventory, however, was ultimately found to be an unreasonable rental option to get good use out of for most clients, due to the skill required to actually operate this rig. As a result, it was NEVER rented out or used at all. In fact, the plastic protective film is still on the monitor and the pictures will show not a mark on the dovetail. The rig was taken out and tried on, with maybe a DSLR rig attached a few times to test everything is working, but that is about it. It has otherwise sat in storage within its flight case for a little over 2 years. There are a couple of small scratches on the Vest and Arm that look like small rub marks, which have been there from the store, I imagine these are just from the heavy parts moving around a bit during shipping? But are only visible on close inspection. Otherwise, this kit is as new and available at a steep discount. This kit is retailing for $9995 USD brand new, and $13, 899 CAD brand new retail BEFORE taxes and shipping. And even more directly from Tiffen! Save a few K buying an as new, never flown rig! Available for meet and pickup in and around the Greater Toronto Area or the London and Western Ontario Region. Willing to meet US buyers at the Buffalo NY or Port Huron MI border ports. Also willing to ship within Canada and the US ONLY and ONLY after some satisfactory checks and balances for both parties. Asking $11, 000 CAD, or $8000 USD or best REASONABLE offer. I'm willing to work with a serious, motivated buyer, but please be reasonable :) Contact for more information.

Hi everyone! The Steadicam forum came up multiple times as I researched buying a used Steadicam flyer rig, I learned alot but have a few more questions. I'm waiting for a call from a sales rep from Tiffen who has been around the block a few times. That will be later this week. I'd just like to thank everyone here for the information I've been able to gather from the forum. I've learned that many people believe the Flyer has held up over the years.. but I would really appreciate any extra feedback I could get on this potential first purchase of Steadicam gear! So, thanks in advance if you are thinking of providing any information. I'm from a small city in Northern Ontario, Thunder Bay. A retired wedding videographer who I know personally is willing to sell me what he says is a Steadicam flyer 24SE for $1,500 that he purchased around "2010ish" for $7,500 CAD. I haven't seen the rig as it's in a storage unit an hour out of town. But I do have some indications of the model and generation. Based on his memory, it would be this rig here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/488892-REG/Steadicam_F24SE_F24SE_Flyer_24_Camera_Stabilizer.html Based on his memory, it includes the bag, the rig has grey colouring and can be powered by both the included Anton Bauer batteries at the same time, has a telescoping gimbal post, black Steadistand (not c-stand version), vest (some buckles on shoulders, can't recall any leather) and monitor. Once I tell him I'm serious about buying it I can get all of these details as it's a ways out of town. I get the feeling I'll just have to go see it as his memory may not be totally accurate. But maybe this all adds up? The grey colouring may mean it's older than 2010 and is an original flyer? Confusingly, lots of these features only come with the LE version, and I've heard the SE version was supposed to have leather on the vest. Can anyone determine the model or generation based on these clues? A bit about what I would need it for: I am a one man show, operating a small media company in a small city. Some shoots require using a hand held electronic gimbal for many hours and it destroys my lower back. I also do narrative short film and some documentary work, mostly for passion projects, but sometimes for money. I have a pair of Sony fs5's and a pair of black magic 4k's that I am expecting to use on the rig mostly. I don't need anything fancy and I doubt I'll ever be building any large camera rigs for this Flyer. I am just looking for reasonable portability for long gimbal shoots and the odd out of town shoot. Also, being able to adjust straps on the vest myself while wearing it, comfortability, and obviously smooth operation. These are likely all I need. I am looking to either purchase a newer but less expensive rig for under 1k, or to buy this used Steadicam flyer that appears to be in great condition. If I could get your opinions on any of the following, I'd greatly appreciate it: Have there been any significant changes or improvements to Steadicam body rigs, like aero 30 for example, since the flyers release? Is there any significant changes to technology that greatly reduce the Flyers modern usability when compared to newer models? Is an old flyer worth investing the $1,500 CAD? Is it still possible to find replacement parts for a reasonable price? Are the arms still considered up to standard or useable? what are the pros and cons of the Flyer's arm design? Will the "smoothness" and ease of use hold up to modern stabilizer rigs from steadicam? Does the vest have a reputation for comfort and usability for one person crews? Is the Flyer's gimbal/deck lacking in weight distribution features, smoothness and quality of life additions when compared to the aero 30 or zephyr? What about cheap models like amazons FLYCAM Galaxy? https://tinyurl.com/3avjkk3r for around $500 CAD? I'm not sure if I'm asking all the right questions.. but I haven't found anything online directly comparing the Steadicam flyer to newer style rigs made at the same price point/market segment. I'll be speaking with a senior rep from TIFFEN later this week. Thanks so much for your time and consideration!

Hi everyone! I always love perusing this site and reading about other ops journey and setups so I figured I’d finally give back a little and show my current set up. After years of being a gimbal op and hating how the ArmorMan 2 was on my body, as well as just the restriction of doorways and the absence of a good low-mode option, I finally pulled the trigger and got the SmartSystems Matrix sled with X1 arm…. And boy do I LOVE IT! I get the ergonomics and operability of a Steadicam with the roll control and smooth action of a gimbal. As well as being able to do some pretty crazy moves (with the execption of the trinity low to high jib mode in 1 shot - the tail gets in the way) + being able to switch to low mode in 15 seconds. :) Feel free to use this post to ask any questions of the setup or operation of it. I’m currently on a show that we are rocking the Venice + recorder + k35s + Preston … a 29lb camera package. With counter weights, the total sled comes in at 73lbs It’s a beast but with some workouts, smart operation, and taking care of my body, I’ve gotten exceptionally comfortable with it. We’re regularly doing 15-20 mins walk and talks + 100meter+ moves. It’s not for the faint of heart (or back) but neither is the Trinity or Omega. Happy operating and shooting!

Hello! I’m selling my brand new horizon monitor system from Smartsystem. This thing keeps your monitor always in the same position even if you rotate the camera. Great for trinity or ronity ops. Or steadi ops who do a lot of dutching. It came with my Matrix Package and I just don’t find myself using it, and really could use the money right now. Truly brand new out of the case. Put it on twice to practice. Comes with all you see in the pics - weights, brackets, case + power cables that I forgot to take pics of. New price is $1600 $1100 and it’s yours I’d prefer cash & local pickup in LA, but I’m willing to ship for the cost of shipping.

Hi gang, Following an Upgrade to an M2 I am now selling my trusty Tiffen Clipper 2 sled. I bought this sled when I first started out in 2014 and it has served me very well on my journey from local short film shoots to working on TV and feature productions. It is basically an Ultra 1 with an Archer tilting top stage and can support full size cameras such as Alexa and Arri LT 35mm. It has had an HD-SDI line added and also has a custom 12/24 volt power system added by Optical Support in London where it has been serviced so is ready to work with modern film and digital cinema cameras. Moving forward, if/when you feel the need you can directly replace the gimbal with a 1.58" M2 Volt gimbal by removing the top stage which I can show you how to do. The sled comes with dovetails and power cables (see below), low mode monitor mount, main monitor post clamp and Tiffen hardcase. It does not have a monitor, rods or yoke as I am using those with my new sled but I could be persuaded to part with my spare monitor and yoke which is compatible if you don't want to source one yourself. It also doesn't come with docking rings or bracket as I'm using these with my new sled too. Included Dovetails: Original Tiffen dovetail Cam-Tec camera dovetail with 15mm rod attachments Cam-Tec V-lock dovetail allowing direct, vibration free, quick release attachment of cameras with sony VCT style bases such as full size Alexa Included Cables: Top stage lemo to 12v 4pin XLR Top stage lemo to 12v Alexa Mini / Amira Top stage lemo to 24v Alexa 2 pin Fischer Top stage lemo to female D-TAP D-TAP to 12v 4 pin XLR ( monitor direct power) D-TAP to 4pin Lemo ( RED DSMC power ) 4 pin Hirose to 12x 4pin XLR ( base to monitor power) 4 pin Hirose to 12x 4pin right angle XLR ( base to monitor power) 6 pin Hirose to 12v 4pin right angle XLR and BNC ( combined base to monitor power and composite video ) This is a fantastic first rig or if you're stepping up from something smaller! Asking £7k, I'm not VAT registered yet so won't need to add that. Would prefer a UK buyer so don't have to deal with all the customs/exporting fun but happy to make ready for shipping at buyer's arrangement. I'm based in London and you are more than welcome to come to see and test fly the rig, I have a complete setup with practice camera etc. If you would like to see some action photos to whet your appetite here a few from my IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/CS4HxEwizqr https://www.instagram.com/p/CKNEQBqhJkF https://www.instagram.com/p/CIqeR_FhUXe https://www.instagram.com/p/BpEkRFRHJRo https://www.instagram.com/p/COFqqDXBTch Any questions please drop me a line on rupert.peddle@gmail.com. Hello all, I'm going to buy my first steadicam soon and get in the adventure. But i was wondering, we all know Tiffen and their steadicam but what are the brands to avoid and the ones we can trust? Sled, arm and vest-wise. Thanks ! Mathias
