I set up the system, balance it perfectly and turn on the volt just like always but then it goes literally crazy.     Hello everyone, Does anyone familiar with the Ultra series have an idea about this issue i'm facing here ? WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.12.mp4 For the story, I just bought an Ultra 1 Steadicam, and it was working perfectly until this morning, the sled randomly started to tilt around 45 degrees only when the camera was facing the stand, or facing me in front of the stand. When the rig is perpendicular to the stand, it behaves just fine, facing left or right, it doesn't matter. I didn't do anything special with it, it was working fine during my tests with the seller, I tested it with very low drop times, various cameras, and no problem. I brought it home and again, no issue during two days, i used it, had fun, and one day this happened... I'm having guesses but I wonder which one is the more likely to be true, so I'd like to be enlighten a little bit. - First the tilt head is doing a clicking sound when toutching it, even if it is correctly locked btw. There is a 1mm play when I grab it an move it side to side. I don't know if it's a normal play when unloaded, I'll check tomorrow if the sound and play are still there when loaded, but it doesn't seems very right to me. I have tried to tighten 4 screws under the head, but they seems to be a fine tuning of the head flatness, is that right ? so i'll have to undo that WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.27.mp4 - Next, the handle, which seems to be in three parts is also clicking, but not like a bearing click, more like its not behaving well when loaded, and needs to be re tighten. Since my problem is only occuring when the rig is facing the handle, or the other way around, maybe it could be that? I can see the space at the junction between the yoke and the handle is larger on the upper side when loaded. and i see a play when i move it around, even unloaded. It seems strange to me, because it was absolutely fine the same morning, but I'm new to gimbals so... Also this part doesn't make any strange sound, there is a very very small amount of play when I try to move it around, same as when I bought it. WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.23.mp4 I've seen videos on how to dismantle a modern gimebal but not an ultra 1. Don't hesitate to ask me for details, i really want to solve this issue, but I don't want to make it worse If a repair manual exists i'd really like to have a pdf I still hope this could be an easy fix, if not I'll bring it to a shop but I'd rather save some money this month !     Hi, Due to change in Career, I am now selling all my Steadicam gear. Everything is in really good condition. Has been well taken care of over the years. The sled was originally a Master Sled and I had it modified by MKV. The gimbal and handle are the only original parts remaining on the sled. I have used this rig for all kinds of camera setups including the Arri Alexa XT. I would prefer not to sell items separately, but I know I have a very strange kit and might have to sell for parts. I am willing to separate the sled in sections for sale if you are interested in the D-BOX. This will be a last resort if I cannot find a buyer. I have the following items in the kit:- Master Series Arm + Low mode bracket Ultra2 Vest. The shoulder plates were changed last year. Practically new. The vest has not been used much since replacement. MKV sled with Betz Top Stage + V4 D-BOX for Top stage and Base. No micro vibrations. 2 Battery plates Boland Monitor with power cable 2 x Hard Cases + Soft bags for vest and arm SOS plate from ADICAM Weight Cage American Stand Heavy Duty Docking Bracket 2 x original docking rings from master sled. The rings were slipping off so I have replaced it with a Jerry Hill Docking Ring (1.580") XLR power cable and Arri 24v power cable Beillen V-Mount Battery Charger and 3 x 98wh Beillen Batteries.     Hey everyone, I'm selling my Tiffen Zephyr Steadicam package (V-Mount). I bought this in January of 2021 during college (I am the 2nd owner of this kit) and dabbled in Steadicam for a few years but have taken a new path and would like to sell this to fund for other gear. The kit shows signs of wear and use but works without any issues. There is a scratch on the monitor but it's harder to notice when then monitor is powered on and does not affect the performance of the monitor at all. The tightening screw for the docking bracket is broken but it can be tightened down still, I just use part of my shirt to protect my hand from the sharp plastic when tightening down. All the latches on the case are in good working condition. Everything in the pictures is included except the C-Stand. Asking $7,000 or best reasonable offer.     Hi everyone! I always love perusing this site and reading about other ops journey and setups so I figured I’d finally give back a little and show my current set up. After years of being a gimbal op and hating how the ArmorMan 2 was on my body, as well as just the restriction of doorways and the absence of a good low-mode option, I finally pulled the trigger and got the SmartSystems Matrix sled with X1 arm…. And boy do I LOVE IT! I get the ergonomics and operability of a Steadicam with the roll control and smooth action of a gimbal. As well as being able to do some pretty crazy moves (with the execption of the trinity low to high jib mode in 1 shot - the tail gets in the way) + being able to switch to low mode in 15 seconds. :) Feel free to use this post to ask any questions of the setup or operation of it. I’m currently on a show that we are rocking the Venice + recorder + k35s + Preston … a 29lb camera package. With counter weights, the total sled comes in at 73lbs It’s a beast but with some workouts, smart operation, and taking care of my body, I’ve gotten exceptionally comfortable with it. We’re regularly doing 15-20 mins walk and talks + 100meter+ moves. It’s not for the faint of heart (or back) but neither is the Trinity or Omega. Happy operating and shooting!
