Steadicam Lessons/Instructors in Austin TX area?

To start off, I understand that this is a really specific question that probably wont help many other people, but Ive done everything else I can to find steadicam teachers in Austin, from researching online to consulting a teacher at the Department of Radio-Televison-Film at UT Austin, sadly to no avail. Im in high school and I discovered that I have a passion for steadicam operating. My school is fortunate enough to own a Scout, and Ive been using it for several months. Im to the point where (even though Im not very good right now,) I am seriously considering perusing a future career as a steadicam operator. Unfortunately there is only so much I can learn from solo practice, and I have been on the hunt for any local instructors or the like. Im too young to attend any workshops (and they would require traveling during school), not to mention the cost. Anyways, if anybody here knows someone who teaches steadicam in or near Austin, TX, or just an operator who might be up for teaching, it would mean a lot to have their contact info. -Quinn

    Paralinx 1:3

Up for sale, a Paralinx Arrow + 1:3 kit. Its first gen, so its good for line of sight out to about 300', and 150' otherwise. This kit has (1) tx and (3) rx. Included are the power cables for all, and remotes for the rx's. ( There are only 2 IR plug-in receivers for the RX's.) Also included is the Crossbow, which is an HDSDI to HDMI converter (the RX fits into the chassis of the Crossbow). Power cables included are DC to 2 pin, and DC to D-tap. A side note : Crossbow does not pass embedded audio, nor does it transmit PSF framerates. So if you've got a Sony camera that does PSF, this probably won't work for you. Everything works fine, but is sold used, as is. Looking for $1300 for the entire thing. Drop me a PM an email at beau800@Gmail.com. Thanks for looking!
  3. For Sale (Obviously) Recon Ultra TX/RX Kit (Everything shown included) I've had this guy on the shelf for a while and need to give it a new home. ASKING $2,000 OBO Perfect working order. This has been a solid device for me - on par with Bolt Pro (not Bolt 2000 or Tomahawk). Extra set of rubber ducky antennas in addition to the fan-blade antennas that came with it. Wiring upgrade to allow the AB mounts to pass power through to the p-taps. Quieter fan installed than what it came with (factory install).
