  1. Hello everyone, Does anyone familiar with the Ultra series have an idea about this issue i'm facing here ? WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.12.mp4 For the story, I just bought an Ultra 1 Steadicam, and it was working perfectly until this morning, the sled randomly started to tilt around 45 degrees only when the camera was facing the stand, or facing me in front of the stand. When the rig is perpendicular to the stand, it behaves just fine, facing left or right, it doesn't matter. I didn't do anything special with it, it was working fine during my tests with the seller, I tested it with very low drop times, various cameras, and no problem. I brought it home and again, no issue during two days, i used it, had fun, and one day this happened... I'm having guesses but I wonder which one is the more likely to be true, so I'd like to be enlighten a little bit. - First the tilt head is doing a clicking sound when toutching it, even if it is correctly locked btw. There is a 1mm play when I grab it an move it side to side. I don't know if it's a normal play when unloaded, I'll check tomorrow if the sound and play are still there when loaded, but it doesn't seems very right to me. I have tried to tighten 4 screws under the head, but they seems to be a fine tuning of the head flatness, is that right ? so i'll have to undo that WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.27.mp4 - Next, the handle, which seems to be in three parts is also clicking, but not like a bearing click, more like its not behaving well when loaded, and needs to be re tighten. Since my problem is only occuring when the rig is facing the handle, or the other way around, maybe it could be that? I can see the space at the junction between the yoke and the handle is larger on the upper side when loaded. and i see a play when i move it around, even unloaded. WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.15.mp4 -And last, but not least, maybe the gimbal needs to be centered ? It seems strange to me, because it was absolutely fine the same morning, but I'm new to gimbals so... Also this part doesn't make any strange sound, there is a very very small amount of play when I try to move it around, same as when I bought it. WhatsApp Video 2025-03-09 at 21.19.23.mp4 I've seen videos on how to dismantle a modern gimebal but not an ultra 1. Don't hesitate to ask me for details, i really want to solve this issue, but I don't want to make it worse If a repair manual exists i'd really like to have a pdf I still hope this could be an easy fix, if not I'll bring it to a shop but I'd rather save some money this month ! Many thanks in advance Léo Rodriguez
  2. Greetings All! I created a versatile kit that allows you to fly a big rig at a low entry price point and quickly swap to gimble, hand-held or sticks with the SOS plate and Slingshot. I took a modular approach when creating the kit, so when you’re ready you can swap-in other sleds while keeping the arm, vest and support tools. I bought this Steadicam in 2020 from the talented Lohengrin Zaplain (RIP). I’m the second owner and primarily used this for flying on my own indie productions. The rig was made for heavier cameras, but the package includes a 15lb (6.8kg) weight plate that allows you to comfortably fly newer digital and lighter cameras up to a very comfortable operating weight. The 3A arm can be modified by Robert Luna to open up the bottom of its range. This kit is great for anyone looking to upgrade into a commercially useable rig without the budget for a brand new one. While a little older, it still comes with quite a few nice features. Note that the Transmission, FF and batteries all work. Happy to work with you on pricing and payments. $12,999.00 All-in (Plus Shipping) INCLUDED: 1x Tiffen ULTRA HD Sled Super post, motorised head and HD-SDI line added - Custom Cut Armoured case on wheels - Tiffen 15cm 6" (short) plate - Tiffen 30cm 12" plate - Weight Plate 15lb/7kg Modifications: - removal of the tilting stage - removal of the top post (weak post) - HDMI conections added - 12/24 V electronics bypassed and wired for 12V (electronics are still there) - New double V-mount mount 1x 6“ Transvideo Monitor and Yoke 1x 3A Arm - Good condition. 4. Previous owner was Katy Most who was kind enough to entrust me with this kit and now I in turn am ready to entrust it to a new operator. I am hoping to sell it all as a package deal. Some items are being added as extra but can be removed if not needed by the purchaser - I will label which items these are. I will reduce the price of the overall package if the buyer does not want this items. Price is listed at the bottom of the post. Based out of Austin, TX. Can meet anywhere in Texas. Anything out of state will require shipping. Buyer pays for shipping. 5. Hi! I'm firstly looking for a master vest, but also interested in ultra 1 vest. Send me a PM if you want to give a great vest a new home. Peder
  6. 10" Tiffen Steadicam Plate $150 includes shipping to lower 48 states.
  7. I have two arm posts that will work on Ultra Arms & G70 arms. It's got the helical groove that works with the Ultra arm quick release feature... but this will not prevent it from working on G70 arms. I use them on G70 arms with no issues. These are in great condition. Tiffen sells 12" arms posts for $190 each, I'll take $95 each plus shipping.
