Anthony Hardwick Posted January 11, 2007 Report Share Posted January 11, 2007 Wow, I returned late last night from a job that worked through the holidays, and this was one of the first things I read about in an email from David Grove. I didn't know Matt well, but I had met him a few times at various steadicam guild gatherings over the last couple of years. I am as shocked as everyone at such an unfortunate accident. Being an avid outdoors enthusiast, it is particularly sobering, because prior to getting booked on this gig, I had planned to spend this past New Year holiday camping in Baja. Thank you to both David Grove and Will Arnot for letting us know of this tragic accident. My thoughts and heart go out to Matt's family and friends. RIP Matt. He always had a crazy story or a joke to tell. Although I hadn't spoken with him in a couple of years I was scrolling thru my phone address book and there was his number. It instantly brought back some fun memories. I am saddend by the news. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I am a movie and camera fan, especially steadicam and cameras for classic animation. I read the bad news of Matt Chubets passing some weeks ago, because I wrote articles about camera men who work for Disney, Touchstone, ... for my own website. I want to write a article about Mr Chubet, too, but i can't find a date of birth. Can anyone of you help me?
