Looking for India mount near Atlanta / Montgomery

Bryan--

At those speeds, you might want both Antlers® and gyros!

That is quite fast to be shooting Steadicam out of a moving vehicle! Even with a vehicle blocking a major portion of the airflow, you are looking at lots of turbulence and gusting which will act negatively on your rig.

What vehicle are you planning to shoot from?

I hope you have some police escorts if you are using more than one lane on an open state or federal highway. Get some answers before you leave the house!

Brant,

first. sorry, I forgot the ®. =)

The speed was dictated by the producer. But turbulence will be a great counterpoint to the speed. They just want it to look like it's "in use."

We're still looking for the vehicle, as well as the mount. so... it might be a mute (moot, moo-t, whatever) point.

But I'm still looking for a way to get some Antlers® =)

Bryan,

That is quite a high speed.

The antler® might act as a sail to shift the sled to an angle.

I think handheld or some kind of tripod mounting on the car will do a better job.

For a better result, more control of the camera, more option to position yourself on the vehicle, a Tyler Mini Gyro from Stratton Camera will be a better choice.

The system is compact light-weight, and yet powerful.

It is very easy to use.

You can rent it for around $450 a day plus shipping.

Stratton Camera is from Michigan.

Check it out.

I don't work for them. I'm just a happy customer.

Ken.

Thanks guys, I got something worked out. It's not ideal, but it will get the shot, and keep me safe. And we are able to do some slower speed work for the shots.

Good info on the Tyler Mini Ken, I'll keep it in my toolbox-in-my-brain.

Bryan
