That second still is quite remarkable. If he managed to pull it back after going down so quickly and awkwardly, he deserves some sort of award for best recovery in Steadicam history.

 

Also of interest, the focus pullers are also riding on Handsfree Transporters, behind the operators. Save their legs for once!

I worked there too and indeed , the colleague managed to jump off the handsfree so that he didn't crash neither steadi nor camera. Actually he was blocked by spectators and press so that he couldn't pass.

Wow, what an incredible recovery he must have made. Thank goodness. Definitely a occasion for brown corduroy trousers.

Actually they were on standard Segways with the handlebars. I was there as a still photographer and the distances that they had to travel it wouldn't have been possible without both being on Segways.
