Premium Members Charles Papert Posted May 7, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 7, 2011 In what way would you say these present an improvement if any over the Storm cases? (and what is the mechanism of the latch, is it similar in action to the Storms)?
Premium Members Daniel Abboud Posted May 7, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 7, 2011 In what way would you say these present an improvement if any over the Storm cases? (and what is the mechanism of the latch, is it similar in action to the Storms)? Charles, I really wouldn't say it's an improvement over Stormcases as they're all built pretty much to similar standards. It is similar in that the latch has a 'safety' on it much like Storm and your fingertips won't suffer from any unruly cases. The Latches are a dual-action clasp, Kinda like old style shipping trunks or old tool boxes. It's hinged in the middle, When you release the safety and flip the latch up from the bottom, the top part releases and you can pull it back to open the case. I like this style because it makes it a little easier to close a case that needs a little encouragement. But, to each their own. Hope this helps. Premium Members Bryan Fowler Posted May 8, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 8, 2011 I saw these at the show. Another Steadicam op I was with bought one. Looks like a good case, the latch was easy enough to operate. Padded divider insides were nice too. Sadly, I have no photos or video, but I can draw a series of photos, and scan them, then make them into a stop motion movie and upload it. Let me finish my latte first...
