Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted April 12, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 Does anybody know if those plates work directly with the Alexa? http://shop.strato.de/epages/61417979.sf/sec9ddf9abaf8/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61417979/Products/%22Sony%20V-mount%20Plate%
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted April 12, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 I don't see why not. The V-mount base of the Alexa is the same as the base of an ENG camera, which is what this looks like it is designed for.
Premium Members JensSchroeder Posted April 12, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 12, 2011 I asked Markus of baer-bel directly and he confirmed that it will fit perfect but the V-mount system for the Alexa has to be ordered as special accessory at the camera rental. It's not a standard set up. Cheers, jens
Premium Members Thomas English Posted April 19, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 FAR BETTER mounting strategy than using the BPA1.
Igor Votintsev
Look at the picture with ALEXA and Sony V-mout Plate (inc. Baer-Bel Rod Elevator) on my rig. I use this plate instead of Artemis camera plate. I like it, because it's very light (400g) and strong, without vibrations. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted July 7, 2011 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted July 7, 2011 updated version now available. Just got an email from Markus. He now has the new and improved version of his ALEXA / V-mount plate available. The difference is in the length of the dove tail part, it is now about 2,5" longer, so that back-heavy cameras (Alexa with Codex in back) are easier to balance. Thanks for listen to "us". new plate new and old
Premium Members Thomas English Posted July 8, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 8, 2011 That is nice. Is there a safety screw on that quick release? I use a similar thing all the time on the Alexa and it really is a great.

Premium Members jorge agero Posted December 1, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2011 It's a very well designed piece by Markus as everything it makes. A week ago that I am using and is the best option for working with Alexa. Is quick to assemble and very lightly, avoid vibracioines of the camera with a lot of weight that has happened to me with the Sony mount.
