Marcus Schlicht
Hello there, I'm a young steadycamorperator from germany and I'm still completing my equipment. So I'm looking for an arm and the question to decide between Pro Arm or the silver spring arm, which is simular to the 3A. Does any one of you has worked so far with an new silver spring arm? Could it be an real alternative to the Pro Arm? Thank you so far for reply, best yellow Shark

Richard James Lewis
And yet another very happy customer... Just got my Blue Spring EFP #393 from rig. It was fully serviced, cleaned and re lubricated, however not refurbished. The arm is fantastic, and their customer service is outstanding. If anyone is looking for an arm, I would definitely look at Rig. -Richard Lewis.
Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 1, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Ok.. non isoelastic arms, some are more unisoelastic than others. Have any of you rig engineering folks compared your arms to the progear or baerbell arms. How much effort do you need to lift your arm away from the centre point? thomas
Nacho Minguez
Hi Thomas, contact with Dean or Hugo from Rig Engineering. They will be happy to answer to your technical questions. My arm is a refurbished IIIA arm, not the SilverSpring Steadyrig arm but they made a great job and it looks, feels and sound like a brand new IIIa arm. Like you, I own a provid arm and you will see the big difference from the first time. Think that the Silverspring arm is a IIIA arm but, more precise, better made, stronger, great weight range (13 to 63lbs), friction free arm post and lots of improvements over the original arm, knowing that the original CP IIIA performed very well in the past and actually. Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 1, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Your refurbished IIIA has the silver springs in it though? with the full 13 - 63 lbs weight range?
Richard James Lewis
It won't. They don?t sell the components separately. I think if you want the silver springs, you?ll have to buy the whole arm. Or have yours fully upgraded.
Nacho Minguez
Thomas, my arm isn´t an upgrade to silverspring, it´s a refurfished arm and has the original EFP blue springs, not the silverspring springs. As I told you, contact with Dean or Hugo and they answer to your questions accurately. If you are in UK, perhaps you could try one. With regard to isoelasticity, as I know, depends of the pulleys distribution design, and the silverspring arm is a IIIA design non-isoelastic arm. Personally, I like much more the feel of these non-isoelastic arms than the isoelastics like Ultras. Nacho
