William Santana
Hello, I have recently become proud owner of a Sony EX1 and Steadicam Pilot AA (which I have just successfully achieved static balance on my stand for the first time). But I seem to have hit a snag... I cannot seem to relay an image to the LCD. I try using the SDI Out port with a BNC to RCA adapter and only manage to get faint static. I tried using the A/V cables that came with the EX1 but do not get an image. I was hoping someone could shine some light on this predicament of mine. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

William Santana
Thanks Brian, I was able to get an image. However the image I'm getting is unusably bad. It can be compared to a watching scrambled cable television. Has this occurred to anyone else?
William Santana
The image also appears to be horizontally inverted for some reason. (i.e. backward letters)
Dave Gish
The image also appears to be horizontally inverted for some reason. (i.e. backward letters) The Pilot monitor can flip the image any way you want. Just go through the menu buttons on the Pilot LCD and you'll find it. Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted July 29, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 29, 2009 I don't know why your image is so scrambled. Sounds like something is still not set properly in the menus. Brian |-)~
Andrew Stone
One other thing to try (if you haven't already) with the SDI port is to convert the signal to STD DEF in the menus and like it mentions in the aforementioned linked thread: make sure "iLink" is turned OFF. You will get a better signal out of the SDI port. I have tried it both ways (composite and downconverted SDI) and SDI wins. -Andrew
