Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted January 9, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 Hi, Simple question but I have not tried it and doubt it works: Can you link wirelessly two MDR's to one hand unit ? I would like to pull focus on two camera using the same lenses but the cameras are not side to side (where I would have used the SLAVE mode in the HU3 and use the same MDR). Both cameras are on the same set but one is on a dolly (with the operator) and one on the milo robot(motion control) replicating the "human" operated camera. I can do it with wires but would love to do it wirelessly. Tried the search option but could not find any info. Anyone here tried it ? Thanks for any info. Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted January 10, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 10, 2010 I know you can do this with MDR 1's by tuning them to the same channel because they are just receivers. Since the MDR 2's are transceivers I am not so sure. I would test it for you tomorrow but I'm working, sorry. By Monday you can call Preston. Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted January 11, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 11, 2010 Frederic, There is a firmware that you can get for the MDR2's that will allow for stereo setups. This would sync the two MDR's to the HU3. But I question this IF you are running both cameras at the same time and they are NOT side by side. Now if your just using one camera at a time, then you should be fine using the standard set up and just power off the MDR2 on the camera not in use at the time of the shot. I would like to hear more of what you are trying to accomplish. I've been toying with "organic" and "replicated" setups as well as stereo configs and may be able to help digest your situation. Feel free to contact me off forum if you like. -Alfeo 323.639.3367
