Personally, I don't think I wanna entrust 30 grand in lenses to the reverse engineering guy... Who knows what he'll do to it. I'll bet he fucks up the calibration on those lenses, that is the best case scenario. Like I said earlier though, I figured someone was out there doing this. Thing is, like Charles said... Those little motors. Are they really up to the task? It's probably just some tiny, flimsy little plastic piece that works as a worm drive inside the lens... Other 3rd party companies have stuck to Canon's method of control, there's probably a good reason for that... 1/3 f-stop increments for the aperture. I think I'm gonna stick with the big external motors myself Mate surely we all agree right now the best technology is that that is tried tested and available and reliable - external motor systems in the future some different options may exist that will have pros and cons the potential pros are size, weight, travel, multiple marks, programability set up time cost etc originally this thread was about the potential of using light rigs for long and or fast shots...
