Premium Members Stefano Ben Posted March 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 Hi Guys! I've the Glidecam CRT Eclipse Monitor. A fex days ago I had shooting with the RED One Camera in 2.40 format. I converted the SDI signal with the AJA HD10MD3 DownConverter but the perfect frame doesn't appear in my CRT monitor. In fact I lost a big part of the image on left and right side and also some lines on the down and up side. Anyone have the same problem??? It's possible that depends from the AJA or it's a problem of my "Low cost" Monitor??? Please, can someone help me??? Thanks!
Premium Members Ken Nguyen Posted March 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 Hi, I don't know anything about that monitor, so can not say much about it. From what you described, I think the aspect of the monitor is 4:3. Your down converted signal is full 16:9 (no squeezed or letter box). That's why you lost the video from both sides. If you set the output converted signal to 4:3 you will have full video with letter box. Hope it help, Ken Nguyen.
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted March 15, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 Stefano, Quickly researching the HD10MD3, it appears the dip switches can set the output format to either 16:9 or 4:3. User manual says that's DIP #5. Can you verify if it's set to 4:3? Does sound like the CRT monitor is expecting a 4:3 image but it's receiving a 16:9 image, so it's trimming off left and right. Premium Members Stefano Ben Posted March 16, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 16, 2010 Feeeew! ^_^ It was a problem from the AJA. Of course, I had just switch the video pin in 4.3 format and everything is gone be ok!
