Adam Tyler
Hi guys I was just wondering what the process for having custom foam made/cut is. I am thinking about doing all my steadicam stuff and some other stuff that I will not leave out of my sight, so leaving my gear for them to work with is out of the question. do I need to make drawings take pictures and take in measurements? Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted March 25, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 25, 2010 I've worked successfully with A&S Case in North Hollywood for several years now. They not only do exceptional work but they also handled and treated my equipment with great care. Keep in mind that while our gear my seem extremely expensive to us, a company like A&S handles gear much more valuable and delicate than ours, including one of kind musical instruments. By the same token, a reputable company will be insured and you should be as well. Over the course of your career you'll be letting your gear out of your hands more than you care to. Call Art at A&S Case, he'll take good care of you! Art Arras:(818) 509-5920 Robert
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted March 25, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 25, 2010 There are a few places to go for this sort of thing (I use Innerspace myself). Theoretically you could schedule time for them to make templates etc. Innerspace, for instance, has a library of templates for some of the more common gear which can save you time.
