Moderators Janice Arthur Posted April 27, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted April 27, 2010 Kapil; Make sure you read all of that previous information. It is very enlightening. Here is what you should be sure you realize. You should be a very experienced operator on the "regular" rig before getting into the AR. The AR is held away from the body more to make it swing around, etc. and that makes it even harder on the back. The extra stuff on it makes it a heavy rig too. From what I know, it is expensive rig to invest in and you should be sure your market will pay for this kind of investment. Look long and hard before you dive in. From what I see with the new Tango and Zephyr you can do lots of what the AR does with much less stress and investment. Good luck and tell us your experience level. Premium Members Dave Isern Posted April 29, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 great machine, but....... The rates to keep an AR rig economically worthy can be tough to get when starting out..... and down the road.....? Also there's a concern about the longevity of the Vendor. Legal papers from the Vendor/manufacturer's liquidity process have been floating around. Not a good sign...... ......or a great sign for a bargain. Moderators Janice Arthur Posted April 29, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 In reply to the Basson unit, beyond the "Dear God" which I repeat. The pads on the vests are huge! The Op is one of those drawing figure wooden men we all have on our book shelves! He's going one way, his knees another, that can't pay off for any length of time. Premium Members Sydney Seeber Posted April 29, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 http://www.bassonsteady.com.ar/shop/index.asp No fucking way i wonder if I disassembled that, maybe I could then build a steam shovel or a ferris wheel out of the parts. Or a robot! Gonna need some more girders though.
Premium Members Dave Isern Posted April 29, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 Kapil, My apologies. The AR is made of parts from the best manufacturers in the world. They have serviced some of my parts quickly and easily. The machine is a marvel that I wish I had in my "bag of tools." U can do sweet shots with it. It's not the best tool for everything. U might need a 'regular rig' to get through doorways at eye level. A bit heavy for some shots. Lighter than I thought though... Best, Dave

Premium Members Dave Isern Posted April 29, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 29, 2010 I don't own one, my apologies. So Kapil u should talk to someone that does own an AR. Not me. No need to waste thread space. I think it's a cool device though. If u can, why not. D
