# The V-25 Glidecam with Vest, Arm and Sled package with screen and Anton Bauer set up, and accessories cost me over $19,000. This equipment is in excellent condition.

This rig is basically brand new and for the amount of money you will save, now is the time to buy. Everyone is looking for Glidecam/Steadicam operators. It adds huge production value but usually is out of most budget limits.

I paid $2000.00 over 12 months ago for the Glidecam 2000 pro with smooth shooter arm. The second Glidecam 2000 Pro was $400.00 and has separate Smooth Shooter Arm that was $1650.00. Arm and Sled comes with a carry case. I used it for smaller SD cameras like my GL2 and is perfect for a two man Glidecam/Steadicam shoot which clients loved for weddings. That was what I learned on and it was awesome.

Glidecam V-25 in perfect condition... As listed above, the Vest, Arm, Full size Monitor (as seen in photo) and Sled are all in immaculate condition. Also comes with docking bracket to hold rig on a tripod when balancing. post-8731-12738092028526_thumb.jpgThere are a variety of extensions and with new camera mounting plate that's also included. This is in perfect condition and packed into 2 pelican hard cases with full custom foam inserts. Paid over $19,000 for the V-25 Glidecam set up several months ago.

Comes with LCD screen with Anton Bauer Battery mount. The V-25 is also Anton Bauer ready with twin mounts as seen in photo's. The two (50) Hytron Anton Bauer Batteries with a twin charger. Paid over $1,500 for batteries and charger alone new. One battery is for the back of the monitor and the second for your camera or as a back up that can be kept on the sled for balancing your rig. Ready to switch out when needed. Battery life on LCD is 3Hrs and holds full charge.

The Glidecam V-25 was purchased new and is still in perfect condition and is perfect for being ready for any job no matter how big or small your camera.

Invested almost $20,000 new, priced to sell for only $7200U$ in excellent condition. If you know how to operate a glidecam, then you know the professional look you can obtain on any shoot that the competition can only dream about. With the demand being so high for steadicam/glidecam operators it is well worth the investment to get more work. Getting two Glide cam systems will cover you for every shoot. Dream package for great production value.

First person to see this will be very happy.

Dear Charles and Henry

For some of us, getting a Glidecam is what we can afford for the work we are lucky enough to be involved with. It is a dream come true getting this equipment to start out

You other guys that have posted the sarcasm are making very good points by bashing Glidecams and all in this forum would agree with you.

You see, you may have already obtained experience and purchased a $40,000+ Steadicam and be involved in higher end production but there is no reasonable explanation for pointing out that Glidecams are obviously not at your level.

Just remember, "it is nice to be important, but it's just as important to be nice"

So before you break your own arm slapping yourself on your back for being such a great person, take some time to think that you too were once starting out and you too had to do your time and pay your way.

Those of us that are yet to achieve greatness, need a little time and help along the way. I am sure it was extended to you at some stage with open arms.

Myself, I am just out of school and feel that school has just begun. I love what I do an at this stage, I am happy with what ever I can be involved in so I can grow as a person and improve as an operator. Most of all, I enjoy having a great hard working attitude that is reflected in everything I do and everyone I work with.

You guys have a really nice day and thanks for your postings.

Sincerely

Jamie Trent

Actually, let me take that last statement back, ("so I can grow as a person and improve as an operator")

I dont even have the right to call myself an operator at this stage, even though I have been flying for a few years.

So once I feel I am at a higher level with an IMdb pro profile and website, I guess I will start calling myself an operator.

Much respect goes out to all you pro operators.

Thanks for your time.

To be honest, your original post reads like a Snuggy infomercial. I really think the negativity you feel you're receiving has a lot more to do with that than the product itself. You have to admit, there are several unrealistic statements in that post.

Sydney

Snuggy infomercial (So like snuggies, a glidecam is for babies that need help with their poop or s%#t, or is the glidecam just considered a piece of s#@t for babies? )

Yes you are correct in saying that their are several (well maybe a few) unrealistic statements in my post. In comparison between a Glidecam and a Steadicam, you are 100% right. But there is no need for negativity because a product is not meeting the standards of a Steadicam.

Remember, this system is for someone with little or no experience wanting to do weddings or student shorts and so on. There is no sense in putting the glidecam on the same stage as the Steadicam.

Nothing in the advert is unrealistic to a Glidecam operator, maybe I should not have used the word Steadicam in the advert at all and also left out the word professional as well. But now we are just picking it apart.

Bottom line is, I advertised the V-25 Glidecam for $7200 and within 30 minutes, it was sold. So all the posts that followed just give me an indication of how Glidecams are not welcome in this forum.

So I am moving onto a Steadicam myself and look forward to joining in these forum post in a more positive light when I am up and flying with my new Steadicam.

Much respect and thanks to all for your thoughts so far.

I'm gonna reiterate my point because it wasn't understood clearly.

The tone in the responses you received has less to do with the product itself and more to do with the way you pitched it.

On a side note, I said Snuggie, not Snuggles.

Jamie,

If you operate, you are an operator. If you are getting paid to do it, you are a professional.

I agree that your ad is an overly hard sell and over-hypes the product. But why so defensive? You had already sold the gear! If you'd ignored the jokes rather than take offense, you still would have walked away with the cash, your customer still would have walked away with a good deal, but you would have been happier.

Note that you're the one who compared Glidecams to things babies use to crap on. And you had to misread Sydney's post to read into it that far. I'm more interested at this point in what you REALLY think of Glidecam.

Never feel shame for achieving your goals. Never get defensive when you know you are right.

But next time, an ad as long as my post will sell your gear just as well.

I look forward to seeing you're progress.

I'm from Australia, so I thought you meant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeA_wSmqe8g. My fault, we call them snuggies in OZ.

I guess I pitched the Glidecam without first thinking about the company that would be viewing it. Mainly professionals that don't really want their time wasted talking about Glidecams which are obviously a poor product.

You are right, it was sold pretty much straight away and the guy that purchased it came from San Fransisco. I guess the comments after he agreed to buy it, put a question on the item he was yet to come and get. I didnt want him reading the posts and changing his mind for obvious reasons. So to answer Brians question of why so defensive?, there is your answer

I didn't want a change of heart due to comments that were made.

Brian, I have been operating various glidecams due to affordability for three years and have been paid for my efforts. When I upgrade camera (video) I would get the next size Glidecam 2000 pro, V-16, V-20, V-25.

The Glidecam doesn't even land in the same park as a Steadicam. The weight distribution is awkward, the arms on each of the above models were always a pain compared to the Steadicam. The transitions, the balancing are totally different. It places strain in areas of your back that Steadicams wont. Sure it looks ok to the average wedding or corporate client but it takes far more work and strain to operate and stress trying to get the shot. At the end of the day, I was doing far more work than I needed when I could have saved myself the pain and effort from day one and just spent the extra money and gone with a Steadicam.

I hope that clears it all up. I am just happy to be learning all over again. This is a humbling experience and I meant no disrespect by placing such a hyped advert to sell something so I could move forward.

There is no need for anything more unless I have missed something.

Thank you to all for your input.

I am happy it has been sold and I'm moving forward.

Now I just need to figure out which Steadicam to buy for my Sony EX3.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JT
