Premium Members Richard W. Davis Posted June 1, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2010 What's a good weight cage/plate to buy? (for 5/7d cameras & rods) Dave Isern www.daveisern.com Highly recommend the weight plate/cages that Janice Arthur is making. They come in a variety of weights from 2 lbs to 15 lbs per plate. Lots of countersunk holes , iris rod mounts, comes with mounting screws etc. Well machined and fast on shipping. Contact her through the forum search for Janice Arthur. Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 4, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 I use an Element Technica 19mm bridge and dovetail plate with large 19mm bars and an old RED cradle with a battery on there to power my bartech. Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted June 4, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 I'd say just about the same as Thomas, build the camera for studio mode w/ preston or bartech (rods, mattebox, motors, wireless, battery plate, battery, cross converter, transmitter, etc) and then slap that onto your rig. That should do the trick, not to mention a faster change over back to sticks/dolly. -Alfeo "self proclaimed HDSLR Guru" Dixon
