Steadyrig Battery Hanger

Do any of you guys have any experience of the Steadyrig battery hanger. I heard mention there was a new batch possibly to be made in the future... anyone know more about this?

Anyone have an estimate on costs?

It seems like a good idea and a clean improvement on the PRO design. Being able to separate that front battery forward yet having all the measurements marked so you know exactly what is what with your different battery combinations.

Any ideas on stiffness with whip pans? I'm not sure how strong that centre V looks.

Betz engineering, Satchler, Tiffen and MK-V are currently championing this system where you can swing the batteries up and down as well as in and out. Is this really necessary?

Thanks guys

Hey Thomas how are ya? long time!

Ive had my Steadyrig battery hanger for just over a year now and love it. It makes finding Dynamic Balance really easy, as everything is adjustable. Its very solid, well built and im really happy with it. Never had vibrations, flex or anything with it. The V section is actually more sold then it looks.

From memory, they're worth about $5000us. Hugo please correct me if im wrong.

Currently working with Hugo to make it tools free as thats the only thing that annoys me about it.

Mr. Puli !

Hows you Senior? When do we get to go to the pub again? Looks like I might need to come to Aus.

$5000 seems like a lot since there are no diodes or clever electronics in there, BNC looms or post connectors. Essentially its without a D-Box. I think that $5000 might be including the D-box. Bearing in mind that the MK-V and the PRO "battery hangers" are half that price.

Tools free is always good. What D-Box are you using James? What Post? What Sled?

Hey Thomas, yeah im now thinking the $5k was including the lower junction box.

My sled is basically one of Hugo's sleds, with a different Gimbal and Topstage and electronics the same as Pro. Im slowly upgrading things as I can afford to, and being here in Australia Hugo's kit worked out better then buying anything else at the time.

Just spoke to Hugo and hes going to post shortly replying to this for you mate!

Hi Thomas,

You were correct in your assumption about the 5K being too high.

The catalog price for a Steadyrig Battery Hanger is US$2950.00 plus shipping. This price is for the standard configuration of Anton Bauer batteries and PRO 1 compatible sleds. The battery plates we use are genuine Anton Bauer plates, so you can be assured of their quality.

I understand that you have a Mk-V and this will require an adapter plate fitted to the bottom of your lower junction box, we have these adapter plates in stock. We also have adapter plates in stock to fit Cinema Products EFP sleds.

We have sold Battery Hangers to a number of operators in the UK that have Mk-V sleds. I believe their battery hangers were installed onto their rigs by Marell, in the US, our customers use Terry West for fitting.

Although the hanger looks delicate it isn't, when it is fitted to a lower Junction Box, there is a box section created, that provides excellent rigidity with no noticeable flexing.

We have a standard three week turnaround from order to delivery.

Please let us know here, or by email to admin@steadyrig.com, if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Hugo,

Steadyrig.

Works great. Rigid. Simple. Very adjustable for every low-mode set-ups.

Deals with the different weight of LCDs opposed to CRT's.

Sits well on a guitar stand when camera's off.

Had mine almost 3 yrs and dig it.

Best,
