Premium Members Thomas English Posted November 1, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2004 I am having some clearance issues on one particular bit of my sled. I was wondering if anyone knew of any very low profile "kip locks" that do the same job? I need it to have maybe a third of the amount of profile

Premium Members WillArnot Posted November 1, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2004 I'm not sure if it helps your clearance issue but you can also cut off half the length of the handle part and still get plenty of purchase on tighten/loosen. This has helped me in a # of tight places where clearance is a problem. After you cut the plastic handle, filing it down is also recommended. Hope that helps. Premium Members Thomas English Posted November 2, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 2, 2004 cheers for your help... I think in the end i might have to get a "low profile lever" machined and glue it to a thread. I just really like the way kip locks can be repositioned. Its for the "locking screw" for my base plate (3a style topstage)
RobinThwaites
Hi Thomas You may give yourself more options by re-tapping the little stainless steel locking piece with a metric thread. Robin Thwaites OpTex
