Hey guys,

Im wondering if anyone can give some recommendations for leasing companies? In the previous threads there was a recommendation for MaxPro. Has anyone worked with Direct Source Capital?

Finally, obsolescence is obviously a potential issue for certain items in the kit (HD LCD monitors, wireless video transmitters) has anyone used lease without option to own on those types of items? As always I really appreciate the help that more experienced and more intelligent operators can provide:)

Anthony;

I don't know about individual companies.

I am going to chime in about obsolescence. That is your problem.

I'm not being a smart-ass but they don't care--you pay back the agreed amount.

What I think you are asking is because these things like HD monitors will become obsolete very fast what does that do to the value? Well the value of new gear to used gear is about 1/2 to 1/3 because of a lot of things.

Obsolescence may make it go down quicker, sad news for us. (The good news is that once its up and working, you can keep today's gear making you money for a long time.)

The last part of what you didn't ask is "How can I get financing for gear that is getting obsolete?" Well the answer to that is NO leasing company lets you use the gear as its own co-lateral. You've got to put up something else to ensure that the loan is paid back!!

Lastly, would you, if you were the leasing company let a highly portable, easily damaged, constantly evolving, item be its own co-lateral? I wouldn't.

Good luck.
