Premium Members Michael Wilson Posted February 16, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2011 So I have a job coming up and don't have time to send off some of these hytron 50 cases to be recelled. Their is a local Batteries Plus that can do it with a caveat since they don't normally do these types of batteries. They will do it as long as I don't hold them accountable if they mess up the electronics. Obviously this seems like a no brainer, but I was wondering. Is this a fairly simple procedure? Is their a good chance they could muck up the battery/electronics inside? I have 4 hytron 50's on a red job. I can always power the camera with a red brick so I'm not really sweating it. Thanks for any input.

Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted February 16, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2011 John's offer is pretty sweet, and he knows what he's doing. Or just rent. I wouldn't let B+ within ten feet of my A/B's, they have already admitted that they don't know what they are doing. There are wires that can be cut inadvertantly, there are ways to damage the integrity of the cases, etc. etc.
Andrew Stone
I would go with John if you can. He has made you a very good offer on those Hytrons. His stuff arrives fast. Mine came cross border in a few days using his standard method with the US Postal Service.
Premium Members Hilaire Brosio SOC Posted December 15, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2011 I tip my hat to John too. He communicates with when he gets the stuff in and checks in out, as well as when he ships it. I am really happy with his service and recommend him too. Premium Members Russell McElhatton Posted January 4, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 4, 2012 I have to praise John Ritter as well. John has done several Dionics and Hytrons for me. After using a local receller in L.A. and having failures on some of those local recells, John sent me pictures of what went wrong with the internal electronics. There is quite a bit that can go wrong inside there. I have used Batteries Plus to recell Preston batteries as well as PRO chocolate bars. Those are simply cell packs however, without the somewhat complex electronics of the A/B batteries. I can also second the speed of Johns' turnaround time. Premium Members Aaron Smith Posted March 7, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 7, 2012 Another vote for John Ritter. Surprisingly fast, best price and hands down the best customer service I've had with steadicam gear which is saying a lot considering this community has the best customer service I've ever received.
