balancing low mode...

can anyone send me a video of balancing a rig..specially low mode..

 

just bought a pro 2 sled..somehow m not getting it right...

while balancing high mode..i usually keep a drop time of 2 seconds...

 

but for low mode ,ofcourse the bottom is heavy but shud i open the post n keep the same drop time???? :huh:

With the rig upright, you need to move the gimbal down so the camera side moves further from the gimbal, therefore making it camera stage heavy. Then the rig wants to sit with the camera low and the batteries high. Adjust gimbal position to adjust drop time as normal. If you want to get more post space between the gimbal and the upper junction box, as well as get the camera a little bit lower, extend the post and then move the gimbal position to set drop time for low mode.

Hey Kapil! You ok?

 

Yeah I often do open the post as much as I can (without using 4 stage) just for that bit of extra distance.

 

2 seconds is a very short drop time for regular mode. I tend to use 4 or 5 seconds. I will tweak my sled upside down with the gimble height so I have the same drop time in low mode.

 

In superpost low mode (very long 4 stage) I tend to have up to an 8 second drop time but thats because the sled is so damned long.

 

I always also move the batteries backwards and monitor forward to try and give more inertia in low-mode as it is trickier.

 

Practice lots and practice with it balanced in high mode but operating in low mode. This is how I got confident in low mode.

 

Practice also moving the camera around on the stage in low mode. Weight always wants to "go uphill" It gets confusing and embarrasing when you get it wrong.

hey Thomas...m doing just fine...hope allz well at ur end..

i just bought the gpi pro 2 sled..got a bit confused with the low mode balancing...

 

yes i have been practicing a lot...almost there :D
