Premium Members Gregory Dillard Posted November 24, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2011 Jim, I just got my complete Pilot last Friday. First I had the STEADICAM MERLIN, and I had my 5D/7D attached. What a freaking workout. Couldn't take it any longer side I upgraded to the ARM&VEST KIT, and what a magical difference! Still wanting to do more I got the PILOT SLED POST last week as the vest and the arm for the MERLIN is the same as the PILOT. I have my 5D/7D attached along with the battery grip and I'm still working on achieving the dynamic balance. Overall it's an awesome unit, and sometime next year I'm getting the ZEPHYR. Hope this helps.

Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted November 24, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2011 Just speculation, but I doubt there will be a Pilot update soon. The Pilot is one of the new generation designs, and shares a number of parts with the newer Zephyr and Scout. The Pilot fills a specific niche in their lineup, and gets good reviews compared to the competition in lightweight rigs.
