Premium Members David Karger Posted January 10, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 I have a Flyer LE, and I have a need to get the camera as low as possible - preferably skimming just above the ground. The rig has a two-piece post, and the gimbal can only go as far down (towards the battery) as the post's locking lever. So the camera flies well above the ground in low mode. Does anyone know if there is equipment or there are techniques to get the camera lower in low mode? I was thinking that maybe an extended pin in the F-bracket might work, but not sure if that is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Premium Members Erik Brul Posted January 11, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 11, 2012 Hi David, The best way to get as close as possible to the ground would be a cage.. you can buy them from several suppliers, the cage will loose you some payload but get the camera easy 20 to 30cm closer to the ground. Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted February 13, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 13, 2012 In Toronto a few years ago at one of my workshops, we tinkered around with an LE in extreme low mode. We used a very long post to drop from the F Bracket to the handle ( which hung inverted, of course. ) It made for quite a bit of vibration. A good reminder of why we don't sell extended length arm posts for the smaller rigs- we work hard to avoid any vibration in any situation and using a thinner post that is so long as to allow the camera to brush the ground would induce vibration. Better to use our low mode cage. 078-2038-01 $ 550.00 for the video cage with 12" rods.
